- College will be in the heart of the city So it is easy for us to travel to the college . Lot and lot of bus facility is available for our college Railway station is very near to our college And bus stand is also near to our college. So there will not be any transport lacking for our college. Our new building is the tallest building in the salem city with automated technology. Each and every department looks grandeur. And lot and lot of restaurants, Snacks shops , dress shops , specs and everything available outside our college campus. It's is like busy street We can get anything we need just outside of our college. And college parking need to be extended Because the available area is not sufficient sometimes. As the college is extended will Arts and Science. And also our college have polytechnic college and sona school also. So the parking should be improved in my opinion. Our college also have a very good lab facility notedly Apple Lab.
- Campus life will be very fun and enjoyable. We will be having lot of symposiums that will be inter department, intra department and sometimes national events etc. There we can participate and win exciting prices. We have 2 culturals every year . One will be on our open auditorium will be the top enjoyment for us And another on ground in very grand manner and celebrities like arjun das , aparna Das , Arun Vijay etc visited our college. And campus will be greeny and airy enough which makes us to feel fresh always.
Dislikes
- Canteen need to be improved . Especially canteen lunch foods are poor we have many hotels outside but still canteen is easy for everyone but the food is not good. I want canteen to improve the food taste and variety . Snacks also not that good and having only very little variety of snacks.
- Parking need to improved since there is only one parking for polytechnic, Sona School , Arts and Science and Engineering. Parking is not enough for us to park the vehicle. Sometimes our bikes got scratches because of consisted Parking. Especially for girls it's very tough to park and take their vehicles in the conjusted parking.
Remarks :
There were no exams to join our college. I joined my through through counseling. The cutoff criteria vary from course to course. For AI and DS, the cut-off required is a minimum of 160. IT and other departments are also required. Minimum of 150. Other departments may vary like 140, 130 etc. If you can't reach the eligibility criteria you can approach the college directly for management quota. Management quota doesn't have any criteria but the fee varies from person to person based on the marks and how early they came for admission.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I took this course because of my interest and I wanted to explore more in this I also heard the placement will be very good for our department in the future and our course will have a good scope in the future that's why I took this course. Faculty Qualifications are more excellent than I expected each and each teacher is very qualified and still upgrading to the latest trends. All of our teachers must complete at least two NPTEL courses every semester. Especially our department faculties are the stars of NPTEL and scored top 1%, 2%, and 5% marks. Semester exams are conducted 3 to 4 months after the course starts and we will be having the internal exams every month we will be having a total of 3 internal exams. Also for labs, we will be having 3 internal exams as well as the end-semester exam along with the theory courses. I got into this college because of a scholarship. They were given a very good amount from management based on my cutoff.
Internships Opportunities :
I got the opportunity in the Sona Star Innovation which was run by our Vice Chairman sir. Where we got the opportunity to undergo an android-based project which is currently working in Tanishq Jewelry, Ashok Leland, and as well our sona college campus. And apart from this during placement. Most of the companies offered internships before onboarding as Full-time employees in our 8th semester. I got selected for presidio and now working as an intern with a good stipend ( stipend is confidential). Many of them got a good stipend and salary. The internship stipend depends on the package of the company. Cisco gave 95k as intern stipend. Zsclare gave 50k as intern stipend. Nasdaq gave 40k as an intern stipend And small companies. Gave 10k to 30k as the intern stipend.
Placement Experience :
We want to give willingness to placement if we want placement means. Then those students who are willingness will be taken extra care of for the placement. We will get aptitude training, technical training, etc. Especially our department will have evening classes in the 7th sem to get trained for the placement. We had a very good average package and it's increasing every year. Now the average package for the whole college is around 6 to 7. And the mechanical department's average package is 8. And IT, CSE AI, and DS average package is 7 to 8. Almost there are 700+ offers we got this year. Some of the companies that visited our campus are Cisco with 19LPA, Zscaler with 20LPA, JSW with 10LPA, and Presidio with 9.5LPA, and these are high-package companies. MNCs like Accenture, cognizant, Capgemini, TCS etc. Around 90 percent of the students who opted for placement got placed in our college. I plan that get selected by one of the big companies with the high I mentioned above and onboarded.
Campus Life :
Campus life will be enjoyable at Sona. Sona College is not that much strict so we can enjoy a lot along with education. Krivass is the main national event that our college conducts every year grandly and celebrities will be invited for that. Other than that we will be having SONATA in an open auditorium. There are a lot and a lot of clubs like Tamil Mandram, Eng Club, IQ&EQ club, Sci Club, coding club, etc. We can participate in any of the clubs it will be more fun and a very good extra enhancement for us. Each semester we will be having an intra-department sports day with a lot of sports activities like Cricket, Football, Hockey, Volleyball, basketball, fencing, etc. I am not a hostel student but my friends said that the rooms are good. But the food is veg so it will be not that good. Food is not extraordinary I think The canteen good is also not very good in our college. But no worries there are a lot of hotels and restaurants and as well as PG near our college as it is in the heart of the city.

Placements are good like when you rech the 4th semester you will be told to register the Placement portal and you will be charged 5000 to register in that Placement portal after that people from good companies or professional Placement trainers will come and train you give you classes the classes will be there until 5th semester end. After that many Placement offers will come to you in your given emails and you will be able to apply in those companies if you are eligible they will contact you. Internship offers the staffs itself give all the active Internship details in the college whatsapp group it will be created once your classes begin.

Placement Experience :
The eligibilty varies it's better to no arrears during placements average package could 3.5LPA Around 60 percent is placed I got placed. IN our college there are various companies that come for placemrnt like Capegimini, hcl, wipro, airtel, Ericcson.
Good college and value for money
Placement Experience :
Around 70% of the students from this course got placed, which is kinda decent I think. The highest package went up to 21 LPA and the lowest was around 5 LPA. Some of the main companies that came for recruitment were TCS, Zoho and Wipro. For internships also, students got chances in companies like Zoho, Amazon and Wipro. Most of the roles offered were related to HR, not much technical roles from what I heard.

The fee structure in the college is high and for different course the fee is different for ELECTRONIC AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING I am paying ?90000 and for bus ? 16000 and someone in my class is paying ?125000 so not everyone is paying the same amount in the college
