Is KNIT really worth the hype?

- The best thing about the college is you don't get a honk of vehicles like in cities as it's situated in a town.So you'll get peace everywhere in the campus it's not too crowdy too.
- Here you get enough time to learn new things and gain and enhance your skills and knowledge by yourself. College doesn't forces you to maintain minimum 75% and give nothing in return. Due to which most of our alumni spread all over the world in high paying job roles have cleared off campus or through GATE/ESE.
- The third best thing about the college is that it organizes several fests and events too maintain fun and enthusiasm in students.
Dislikes
- The worst thing about the college is course curriculum in odd semesters,they teach you for a month or two and then announce semester exams , sessionals are held like with a week or two gap which makes a mugging up machine getting no insights and deep knowledge about the topic.
- The second worst thing I would say is transportation here.After 8 pm or 9 pm you won't get any convence or transport until you wait hours or drop your plan.So it destroys the whole mood in college life.
Remarks :
Key factors for choosing this college were, firstly it's on top second rank in Uttar Pradesh, and a government college with great alumni connections. I pursued my diploma after 12th and then appeared for CUET and got something 84 percentile after that I appeared for UPTAC Counselling and got admitted to the college. To get into the first year you'll have to crack jee mains with good percentile to get into this college, For Electronics engineering you'll have to score above 90 percentile to get the stream. But for my case, I was lateral so for laterals you'll have to get a rank under 500-600 in UPTAC counseling merit. KNIT is an autonomous college affiliated with Abdul Kalam Technical University Lucknow. I prepared computer science well for the entrance exam so maths marks were covered up, you'll have to either be good in engineering graphics or computer science to score good marks in cuet.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The faculty here is top-notch, all teachers are PhD holders, and guest faculties are either pursuing their PhD from the college itself or have completed it. Teachers here are quite supportive, whenever you've any doubt or any issue regarding anything no matter financial they are ready to help anytime. The thing which the college lacks is an old syllabus and course curriculum. The topics taught here are 90's inventions not as per the industry requirements. Odd exams happen in a rush as they teach you for a month or two and then announce semester exams this is what I hate the most about the college. Semester exams are not that tough if you start preparing a month before you'll cover up most of the syllabus. The fee hike is not so high here as it's a government college so it generally increases by 5-7%. Course fees including hostel are 73000 per year and mess fees are 20000 per semester. For financial assistance, you've a UP scholarship which rebates you 63000.
Internships Opportunities :
Internships aren't offered here but you get good support and information from placement cells to crack any good internship by yourself some of our batch students have cleared internships in reputed companies like Cognizant, Siemens, Accenture, Groww, etc.
Placement Experience :
The placements here are decent. You need to maintain at least 7 Cgpa to appear in the campus placement drive which is an industry requirement. This year Siemens has hired 5 -6 students from the Ec branch as an intern. Companies like Wipro, Infosys, and TCS Ninja recruit in mass something around 100 were hired in mass recruitment this year. I would say 20% of students were placed in high-paying companies and 50% were placed in mass recruitment per branch. The highest package offered was 1500000 and the lowest was 350000, The average was 600000. With college placement faculties support two of our final year seniors were placed in Cisco with a whopping package of 3500000 and one in Sportskraft with a package of 2600000 in off-campus drive. Overall I'll say the college placement cell is supportive and helpful. I plan to prepare for PCS And appear in placements too.
Campus Life :
The college organizes a National cultural fest every 2 years in April which may named Anubhuti. This year it occurred in April featuring Singer Yaseer Desai, DJ Swattrex, Dj tuhina, and The Blaze band. The library is well equipped with all the course books, you could easily find them as per your need, both classrooms and libraries are fully air-conditioned and some have projectors too. The campus has all types of sports fields and courts. Every year the college organizes its own sports fest named Twaran and KNIT Sports League. You can join various clubs like cultural, sports, literature, coding, etc as per your talents and skills. Hostels are damn affordable which costs you 10000 per year which is included in the fees itself. You are allowed three seated rooms which are quite spacious and fans and table-chair are installed per person. Coming to the mess food it's average on Sundays you get to choose between nonveg and veg other days you're given a veg menu, though the menu has different dishes.

They were no campus place name because I opted for humanity degree and humanities degree comes with no direct placement after UG and it acquires greater and highest studies so right now I am doing my post graduation and the emploibility is very low

The course curriculum is well structured and covers both theoretical and practical knowledge which helps to build a strong foundation for a subject like biomedical. I always had interest in human health and diseases which is why I chose this course. Faculties are always willing to clear doubts as they are well qualified in there particular domain. And overall I feel the course provides a good academic environment for students. there is a academic calendar provided which gets updated time to time and exam are conducted according to this calendar only.

Campus placements start from the 7th semester for students, once the University criteria is fulfilled. As B. Tech Biotechnology is a newly introduced course, there is no Branch wise Placement data available for B.Tech Biotechnology as of now but the university does attract companies like Nestlé, Yakult, Dabur, Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, HCLTech, and so on. The university stated the overall highest package was 60 LPA and the average placement was around 5.4 LPA. My ambition is to pursue a career in Biotechnology in R&D or QA/QC or Biopharmaceutical industry after graduation and enhance my technical knowledge.
