Remarks :

The reason I chose this college was primarily due to it's proximity with my residence and the fact that is the number one University under Haryana state Government. The good aspects of this college are it's location, students and reputation. The college has a metro station at a walking distance and has a highway right in front of it. Students here are quite competitive and push each other in bringing out their maximum potentials and secure high placements. For the reputation fact, almost every parent knows about the university. The biggest drawback in this college is the small campus area. Since the campus area is only about 20 acres, there's not much to do on the campus. Combining it with the tiny amount of events that happen, college life within the campus isn't much happening. The admission here is done through HSTES counseling and the institute level counseling which selects students on the basis of their JEE mains rank. No other criteria is required for admission.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course because it was the best I could get at my JEE mains rank. The curriculum is quite simple yet at the same time a bit outdated. It is not much difficult for the students to learn and get passing marks in examinations but the real life significance of the topics taught in class aren't that much. Almost all the faculty members have a post graduation/PHD in their respective fields. The method of teaching, however is very orthodox. Teachers don't allow students to take digital notes and insist on using pen/paper notes. Also, rote learning is often seen in classrooms which is a major turn-off for students who genuinely want to learn something useful. Exams are conducted on time. Most of the paper is based on past year papers so getting passing marks isn't much difficult.

Internships Opportunities :

The students usually do an internship after the completion of their fourth semester (end of second year). Many of the students either opt for internships in the open source domain and some also apply for development roles in tech related companies. Students also work as creative interns in companies which need marketing work. The university, however doesn't support this much and getting an NOC from the university to work in internships is a hassle. Most of the students opt for remote internships and some opt for weekend internships. Overall, almost everyone who wishes to do an internship gets an opportunity.

Placement Experience :

On campus placements are ok. A lot of companies operating in different domains visit the campus each year. some of these include Samsung and Yamaha with Google too visiting this year. The number of offer varies year to year. This year the number of offers made by these companies wasn't that much but packages offered were higher. Most companies offered position of software developer and highest package was around 35+LPA. Average package was somewhere around 10+ LPA. Almost all students in CE department get placed and around 85 % in electronics department. Students which remain unplaced are often given job opportunities by College alumni which have a very good network of industries in the area. I plan to work in a startup of my own after graduation.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The first semester fees is Rs. 60774(+1000 for some other BTECH courses) payable through card and DD. The second semester fees is Rs. 48129 which includes a tuition fee of Rs. 37129, Development fees of Rs. 9000, Exam and other fee of Rs. 2000. The fees for third semester is Rs. 50334 which includes tuition fees (37129), development fees (9000) + exam and other fees (4205). The subsequent semesters too follow a similar fees. TFW category has a fees deduction of up to 50 percent however. There are several scholarship opportunities for the students whose family has an annual income of less than 5 lakhs. These are mentioned in the induction ceremony and almost all students who fulfil the criteria for scholarship get this facility.

Campus Life :

Campus life isn't much happening. There are small tech fests such as Digiweek in September, La Vida in April and some more. The main fest is Elements Culmyca which takes place in the month of September. The 2024 fest is happening after years of no fest. The higher ups don't give much support in these things. The university has a great library with an attached reading room. Almost every academics related book is present. For the ones that aren't there, there EBOOKS for the same. Classrooms in CE department are AC equipped but electronics department is far from being well equipped. There are either no ACs or they don't work. There is a sports club and a team for every major sport in the university and the university often participates in competitions. There are many clubs, both social and technical that are present in the college. Clubs such as Vivekanand Manch are best for enhancing social exposure and overall personality development.

Placement Experience :

The Career Development Centre (CDC) plays an important role in preparing students for internships and future placements. The CDC conducts career guidance sessions, skill development workshops, resume-building activities, aptitude training, and interview preparation programs to improve students' employability. One initiative that I personally found beneficial was the Internship Fair organized by the university. It provided students with an opportunity to interact with different organizations and apply for summer internships, helping us gain practical industry exposure before entering the final placement season. Such initiatives allow students to build professional experience and develop workplace skills at an early stage.
