Ques. How does TNTEU prepare the B.Ed merit list?
Ans. Government and aided college B.Ed admission does not require an entrance test. The merit rank mainly uses marks from the major or principal subject in the qualifying degree. A PG degree holder receives additional weightage over an applicant with only a UG degree.
Ques. Where should students complete counselling for government and aided B.Ed colleges?
Ans. Students use bed.tngasa.in for the application, merit list, college preferences, and counselling. TNTEU-affiliated self-financing B.Ed colleges run their admission processes independently.
Ques. What is the B.Ed seat distribution under TNGASA-B.Ed?
Ans. The counselling process covers 2,040 seats in 21 colleges. Of these, 7 government colleges provide 900 seats, while 14 government-aided colleges provide 1,140 seats.
Ques. Which academic marks qualify a student for TNTEU B.Ed?
Ans. A student with a UG or PG degree in the relevant field needs at least 50% aggregate marks. B.E. and B.Tech graduates require 55% with a Science or Mathematics specialisation. There is no age restriction for B.Ed admission.
Ques. Which results are considered for TNTEU M.Ed admission?
Ans. TNTEU combines the B.Ed qualifying marks with the university entrance examination score to select students for its 50 M.Ed seats. The examination may be conducted online or offline, and Tamil Nadu government reservation rules apply.
Ques. Can an applicant obtain a B.Ed or M.Ed seat through a direct quota?
Ans. No management or direct admission quota is offered. TNGASA-B.Ed centralised merit counselling fills government and aided college B.Ed seats. M.Ed selection is based on qualifying marks and entrance examination performance.
Ques. May a student awaiting the final B.Ed result apply for M.Ed?
Ans. Yes. A final-year B.Ed student may apply, but the qualifying B.Ed mark statement must be produced when admission is completed. The offer will be cancelled if the student does not secure the required marks.
Ques. Which community certificate is valid for TNTEU B.Ed counselling?
Ans. TNTEU accepts only a community certificate issued by the Tamil Nadu government. An applicant who studied outside Tamil Nadu must still obtain a Tamil Nadu-issued certificate, as documents from other states are rejected during verification.
