Application Process for Asian Pacific Alumni Association Scholarship 

The application process involves many steps. There are no specific eligibility since the selection criteria are independent of university admissions. The APAA scholarship application process has no impact on the admission confirmation to the university.

  • Candidates must complete online scholarship application form
  • Submit the official transcript of coursework
  • Candidates can email the transcripts to apaa@usc.edu
  • Complete transcript from preceding college or university (for incoming graduate students)
  • Personal statement not to exceed 500 words
  • One letter of recommendation
  • The statement should be typed in 12-point font and double-spaced, with full name and 10 digit USC ID number at the upper right-hand corner of each page.
  • Students must list all academic prestige they have received in the last 4 years in a separate document.
  • Candidates must list all campus and community organizations they have been a part of.
  • A selected number of students will be called for interviews with the scholarship committee after four weeks of the deadline. 
  • Applicants will be notified about the decision in early June.

Volunteer for Asian Pacific Alumni Association Scholarship

Students who receive the scholarship can volunteer for different activities such as:

  • A minimum of 10 hours during the academic year in which they get the APAA scholarship
  • The hours of volunteer need to be completed from programs supported by APAA
  • Candidates are expected to complete the volunteer hours in their host country.
  • All volunteer hours must be completed during the academic year in which the award is received
  • The APAA scholarship can be used for covering tuition fees only. It does not cover cost of living in USA.

Candidates receiving the APAA scholarship amount is directly applied into the financial aid package with the USC Financial Aid Office. They will not receive any check for the amount.
