SAR or Student Aid Report is a document which summarizes the information provided on FAFSA. Once the FAFSA form is processed, candidates can click on “View SAR” on the “My FAFSA” page. This allows them to check the SAR information and see certain results. The student aid report or SAR includes:

• Expected Family Contribution (EFC)
• Estimated eligibility for federal student loans
• Eligibility for Federal Pell Grants
• Candidates can check whether they have been selected for verification

The SAR can be viewed online if the candidate has registered themselves through the website. If the candidate provided an email address on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form, they will get a link in the email to an online copy of the SAR page.

How to Get my SAR?

There are multiple ways a student can get my FAFSA SAR. They can review Student Aid Reports online or offline, depending on the information they provide. This is one of the Benifits of studying in USA. The details are:

• If the candidate provides a valid email address, they will get an email from noreply@fafsa.gov. This email will have instructions on how to access the SAR report.
• If the candidate did not provide a valid email address, they will receive either a paper SAR or a SAR Acknowledgement via postal mail.
• Candidates will receive a paper SAR if the Social Security number included in the FAFSA form didn’t match
• The paper SAR is also provided when the candidate didn’t sign the FAFSA form.
• Candidates can view the SAR Report online if they log in to FAFSA via the FAS ID.

Review Student Aid Report

The SAR or Student aid report contains multiple details that the candidates should be aware of. These details helps the candidates to gain grants helping them with travel and stay in USA. Here is a sample student aid report provided of the first page of the SAR Sample.

• EFC (Expected Family Contribution) will display in the upper right-hand corner on the first page of SAR.
• EFC on electronic SAR is located in the “Processing Results” tab.
• The SAR has a four-digit Data Release Number (DRN) on the first page in the upper right corner.
• On the electronic Student Aid Report, the DRN is located in the box on the top of each tab that contains the Application Receipt date, and the processed date.

Candidates can also get their SAR report by contacting the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243) and requesting a copy be sent via U.S. mail. This requires at least 10–14 days for delivery.
