The way we engage with and view nearly every facet of society and the natural world is shaped by mathematics. Numerous applications of mathematics, a fundamental science, can help careers in science, business, economics, and the arts. In addition to working one-on-one with instructors, students can participate in co-ops, attend conferences and seminars, and work. Many undergraduate math students are employed, frequently in their first or second year, to help faculty members with their research.
