- A candidate must typically have a bachelor's degree in engineering with a B standing (70%) in mining, mineral processing, metallurgical, civil, mechanical, chemical, or other relevant engineering fields in order to be admitted to an M.Eng. or M.A.Sc. program.
- For admission to the M.A.Sc. program, candidates with an Honors B.Sc. in chemistry, geology, physics, or a related field are taken into consideration. However, these candidates might need to pass certain qualifying courses from the undergraduate engineering curriculum in order to be accepted into the program.
