Through the preparation of graduates to become Certified Athletic Therapists, the Athletic Therapy major will benefit Alberta's healthcare system. Graduates will gain proficiency in injury assessment, therapeutic modalities, emergency management, rehabilitation strategies, and clinic administration and management. These skills will enable them to work in high schools and other post-secondary educational settings, as well as in sports medicine clinics and with amateur and professional sports teams. A number of the graduates will start their own private practices, and they will all be highly skilled in wellness and leadership development.
