For Alberta's economic and social future, the major in sport and recreation management is valuable and significant. Graduates will receive instruction and training to address the problems brought on by the current rise in sedentary behavior levels and the health problems linked to it. Therefore, Alberta would be able to address these issues by producing leaders who will actively participate in sport and recreation in the Province, including recreation centers, community programming, sport and athletic facilities, and other grassroots partners. This would leave a lasting legacy locally and provide leadership nationally.
