Environmental science is an interdisciplinary field that develops solutions to environmental problems by applying science to the understanding of the environment. The Environmental Science Major offers students the chance to develop their understanding of and ability to deal with environmental issues. The program helps students build the field and laboratory skills necessary to function in an interdisciplinary setting in addition to helping them become proficient in multiple environmental disciplines. Students' acquired skills equip them for careers in environmental science, including regulatory monitoring compliance, environmental research, and many more. Program participants engage in two full-time, four-month paid work term placements in the environmental sector to gain invaluable, hands-on work experience.
