Students learn the principles necessary to design, develop, manufacture, and test telecommunication systems and networks, building on the knowledge and abilities acquired in the first year of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology program. Land mobile radio systems, digital data transmission, fiber optic and microwave technology, satellite communications, radio frequency (RF) design, wireless networks, internet engineering technology, local and wide area networks (LANs and WANs), digital signal processing (DSP) techniques, and the use of microcontrollers are all covered in the program. Students will also finish a project that is either industry-sponsored or student-initiated.
