Shiv Kumar Singh Institute of Technology & Science (SKSITS) was founded in 2007 by Smt. Chanda Sisodiya. The institute was set up with the objective of delivering a strong educational experience through focused teaching and research activities.

The college is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi Technical University (RGTU), Bhopal. Its management program is affiliated with Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. SKSITS is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, and is recognized by the Directorate of Technical Education and the Government of Madhya Pradesh.

The institute is located in Indore on a 12-acre campus at Pithampur Rau bypass, opposite IIM Indore. It also has provision from the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra for lateral entry into the second year of B.E. for diploma holders and B.Sc. students.
