Bharathi Women’s College, a government autonomous institution located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, was founded in 1964. It is affiliated with the University of Madras and has received an 'A' grade accreditation from NAAC. The NIRF 2024 ranking placed the college in the 151-200 band in 2024, highlighting its standing among the top 300 institutions in India. The college offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, exclusively admitting women.

BWC offers a range of undergraduate programs, including BSc, BA, and BCom. Candidates seeking admission to these courses must have completed their 10+2 education. Admission is based on the marks obtained in the 10+2 examination, which forms the basis for computing the ranking for selection. For BWC’s UG programs, applicants must be under the age of 21 as of July 1 of the admission year. However, certain age relaxations are provided: differently-abled candidates receive a 5-year relaxation, while SC/ST/AC/MBC/DNC categories and women candidates are allowed an additional 3-year relaxation. The course fees for B.Sc. and B.Com. are INR 2,440 and INR 2,380 respectively.

BWC offers postgraduate programs, including MA, MSc, and MCom., for candidates who have completed a Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution. Admission to these programs is merit-based, depending on the scores obtained in the qualifying exams. The college releases a merit list, which determines admission eligibility. The course fee for MCom is INR 1.2k and that for MSc is INR 1.26k.
