BKSOM Admission Dates 2027

The next BKSOM MBA admission cycle is for the 2027-29 batch. CMAT 2027 registration is expected to begin in late 2026, followed by ACPC Gujarat counselling in 2027.

BKSOM Courses and Fees

BKSOM provides more than 20 programmes, including specialised MBAs, an integrated UG-PG course, executive education, PG diplomas and doctoral study. The following fees apply to the 2025 to 2026 academic cycle.

The full-time MBA fee ranges from INR 80,000 to INR 84,000 for two years. The five-year BBA + MBA course costs INR 2,00,000 and lets Class XII students follow an integrated route to a postgraduate management degree without taking the regular MBA entrance route later.

BKSOM Admission Process

Admission to the full-time MBA is managed by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses, Gujarat, commonly called ACPC. Applicants need a valid CMAT score and a bachelor’s degree from a UGC-recognised university with at least 50% marks. They must then take part in Gujarat’s centralised MBA counselling.

MBA (Full-time) Admission

The ACPC selection process for the BKSOM full-time MBA has these stages:

• Take the CMAT, the Common Management Admission Test conducted by NTA, during the relevant admission year
• Use the CMAT score and bachelor’s degree details to register on the ACPC MBA counselling portal
• Add BKSOM and other preferred MBA colleges in the required order during choice filling
• Wait for ACPC to allot a seat according to the CMAT merit rank and submitted preferences
• Visit BKSOM with the original marksheets, graduation certificate and CMAT scorecard for document checking
• Confirm the allotted seat by paying the semester fee

The full-time MBA admits 120 students each year. Its government status, long academic history and low fees contribute to competition for these seats. For General Category applicants, the CMAT cutoff usually remains in the moderate range because many Gujarat MBA candidates apply through ACPC.

BBA + MBA Integrated Programme

Students who have passed Class XII may seek admission to the five-year integrated BBA + MBA course. Selection considers marks in the qualifying examination, along with an admission test or interview held by BKSOM. Applications are submitted directly to the school.

PG Diploma and Executive Programmes

Graduates of any recognised university can apply on merit for BKSOM’s specialised PG Diploma courses. The EMBA is meant for professionals who have relevant work experience. CMAT is not required for this course, and applicants submit their graduation and work-experience documents directly to the institution.

BKSOM Placements

BKSOM has its own placement cell and also uses Gujarat University’s placement support network. The institution reports an MBA average package of INR 5 LPA, a median package of INR 4.35 LPA and a highest package of INR 8 LPA. Its reported placement rate is 100%.

Placement opportunities come from banking, financial services and insurance, consumer goods, logistics, retail and information technology. Reported recruiters include HDFC Bank, Aditya Birla Group, Amul, Godrej, AC Nielsen, Deloitte and FedEx. Many roles are offered by Gujarat-based companies and FMCG businesses active across western India, supported by the school’s Ahmedabad location and its link with Gujarat University.

BKSOM Rankings

BKSOM does not appear separately in the NIRF Management category because it functions as a Gujarat University department. Gujarat University was placed 76th in the NIRF 2024 University category. For BKSOM itself, Outlook India ranked the school 19th among public B-Schools in India in 2021.

The 2021 public B-School position indicates BKSOM’s standing among government-linked management institutes in India. Since that result is from 2021, applicants should confirm whether newer survey editions include the school.

BKSOM Campus and Infrastructure

BKSOM is located on Gujarat University’s main campus in Navarangpura, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The centrally placed campus covers 300 acres and has connections to Ahmedabad Railway Station, the Ahmedabad Metro and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.

Students can use the university’s central library, computer laboratories and other shared facilities. The MBA curriculum includes a compulsory 8-week internship and 2 industrial visits each year. Academic links with institutions in the USA, UK and Dubai provide a limited international component. BKSOM has a student-teacher ratio of 15:1.

BKSOM vs GLS Institute vs MS University Baroda FMS

For an affordable MBA in Gujarat, students often compare BKSOM with GLS Institute of Business Administration in Ahmedabad and the Faculty of Management Studies at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. These three government or government-affiliated schools use ACPC-based admission routes and have broadly comparable fee structures.

BKSOM stands apart through maritime and other specialised management electives suited to shipping, logistics and port-related work. GLS Institute follows the same CMAT and ACPC route and has comparable fees, while drawing on a separate alumni base in Ahmedabad’s commerce community. FMS at MS University Baroda was founded in 1956, has a strong legacy in the Vadodara industrial region and offers a smaller MBA intake of 60 seats.
