Life as a medico in Govt Medical College Thanjavur

What I Liked

The journey of becoming a doctor itslf is the best part
I also came across many new people and languages which helps in character building

What I didn’t like

although life after settling as a doctor is the best , the path towards it is really tie
At some times the faculty are really strict which stress you more

Placement Experience:

Its a medical collage , so after 4 years course you have 1 year internship in the collage, after which you are a doctor and its choice based to move on to pg prep etc.obviously its suggested to pursue pg . After 3 year pg course you have the option to specilize.

Internships Opportunities:

There is a fixed intership period / house surgency period which is followed by the tamil nadu university , during which am amount of 25k as stipent is paid to the students . Altough of it the mess fees is drawn from It afterwards

Art of healing

What I Liked

Colleagues and staff were so kind,Skill development was so good, clinic postings are like we get more opportunities to learn
Hostel facilities and fees were affordable

What I didn’t like

Hostel bathroom will not be hygienic, fail to maintain the cleanliness
It's a old building , building infrastructure should be renewed

Placement Experience:

After the completion of course for 4 and a half years, we will be placed as an intern for 1 year which is a training program with scholarship amount of Rs.25000 per month After that we will be graduated from the college Life after that will be based on individual interest whether to study pg course or work in clinics

Internships Opportunities:

Yes, after completion of course we have to join as an intern intha same college for 1year for which we have stipend of Rs25000 per month, We have projects every year, and students should conduct seminar every year

MBBS Life in Thanjavur Medical College

What I Liked

The college is quite open and refreshing place, though having an older infrastructure, it doesnt seem to bother much, there are many trees around the area as well making the place refreshing.
The campus life is fun due to friends, and lack of ragging is really good compared to other colleges were ragging is present.

What I didn’t like

The thing to dislike is the lack of good quality food, the not so well developed city of thanjavur.
Also as said the infrastructure could use an upgrade as it havnt been renovated and is one of the oldest college in tamilnadu

Placement Experience:

There are no placements offered in this course and in this college. I plan on pursuing further education, going for a post graduate degree after completion of mbbs. Though there is a 1 year internship program which is compulsory to take part after completing the 4 year course.

Internships Opportunities:

Internship is provided by the college itself at the end of the 4 year course, it is a must done process for 1 year, It is a compulsory program and everyone completing the 4 year course have to complete the 1 year internship in that college itself inorder to get the doctors license.
