NIBM conducts admission only for its PGDM (Banking and Financial Services) programme. Shortlisting depends on entrance exam scores, followed by written and oral communication assessments and a personal interview. The institute does not conduct a group discussion round.

PGDM (Banking and Financial Services)

Applicants need a bachelor’s degree in any stream with at least 50% aggregate marks. SC, ST, and PwD applicants need 45%. Final-year students can also apply provisionally. NIBM accepts CAT, XAT, CMAT, and GMAT scores. For the 2026-28 batch, the CAT cutoff was 94 percentile for General category and 81 percentile for OBC-NCL.

  • Stage 1: Candidates are shortlisted through CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT scores
  • Stage 2: Shortlisted candidates appear for Written Ability Test (WAT) and Oral Communication Test (OCT) at the NIBM campus
  • Stage 3: Candidates attend the Personal Interview (PI) at the NIBM campus

The final merit score includes entrance exam percentile, WAT, OCT, PI, academic record, and work experience. Work experience in banking or finance can help during the interview. The annual intake is limited to 130 students. Applicants with a strong understanding of banking and finance current affairs usually have an advantage in the process.
