GIMS Courses and Fees

Students can study medical, nursing and paramedical programmes at GIMS Greater Noida. The Government of Uttar Pradesh regulates the charges for its state government medical colleges. The figures below apply to general-category students admitted through the state government quota.

The INR 3,16,850 MBBS charge covers 4.5 years of study and the compulsory one-year rotating internship. Tuition does not include hostel accommodation, which is billed separately by the hostel administration and may cost up to INR 72,000 annually. Mess expenses are also extra.

GIMS Admission Process

GIMS Greater Noida uses entrance scores, counselling and course-specific eligibility rules to admit students. NEET UG applies to MBBS, while NEET PG is required for MD, MS and DNB admission. Nursing and paramedical applicants enter through the relevant UP entrance examination or state merit counselling. The MBBS admission cycle for 2027-28 will be governed by NEET UG 2027.

MBBS Admission

All 100 MBBS seats are allotted according to NEET UG merit. Applicants must complete the counselling route that matches their quota.

• All India Quota, 15 seats: MCC fills these seats through AIQ counselling at mcc.nic.in. NEET-qualified students from every state may participate. The general-category AIQ closing rank in NEET 2025 was 12,255.
• UP State Quota, 85 seats: UP DGME conducts counselling through upneet.gov.in, and applicants must have UP domicile. In Round 3 of 2025, the general-category state quota closed at rank 9,360.

Separate closing ranks apply to EWS, OBC-NCL, SC and ST applicants. Under the 2025 AIQ, the SC closing rank was 96,076. Students must present their NEET scorecard, Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets, a domicile certificate for state quota admission and a category certificate when applicable.

MD and MS Admission

Applicants need a completed MBBS degree, a compulsory one-year rotating internship and a valid NEET PG score. The institute has MD courses in 10 fields and MS courses in 3 fields. MCC PG counselling fills 50% of these seats through AIQ, while UP DGME PG counselling handles the other 50%.

DNB Admission

The DNB programme lasts 3 years and holds accreditation from the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). Available fields are Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Paediatric Surgery. The National Board of Examinations conducts centralised counselling, with allotment based on NEET PG rank.

Nursing and Paramedical Admissions

UP nursing entrance examinations and merit-based state counselling are used for B.Sc Nursing, BMLT and BMRIT admission. Applicants to these programmes must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and secured at least 45% in aggregate.

GIMS Placements and Career Outcomes

As a government medical college, GIMS Greater Noida does not use the usual campus placement system. An MBBS graduate may complete mandatory government service, prepare for postgraduate medical education or later work in government service, private practice or a corporate hospital.

Many graduates take NEET PG to pursue a medical specialisation. High NEET PG scorers can compete for GIMS's own MD and MS seats and continue their training at the institute. After postgraduate study, the college's location near Delhi-NCR also gives graduates access to career options in corporate hospital groups.

GIMS Rankings

GIMS Greater Noida appears in the national NIRF Medical rankings. Since the college was founded in 2016, it has had less time to develop than the older government medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh.

The institute is recognised by the NMC and affiliated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, the medical university of Uttar Pradesh. GIMS is continuing to expand its postgraduate course range and research work, two areas that carry substantial weight in the NIRF Medical assessment.

GIMS Scholarships

Students at GIMS can apply for scholarship programmes run by the central and state governments. These schemes provide fee support, maintenance assistance or stipends according to the student's category, merit and family income. The financial benefit can be particularly useful to nursing and paramedical students, as MBBS tuition is already charged at the government medical college rate.

Central scholarship applications are filed at scholarships.gov.in. Applications for the SC/ST post-matric scheme are handled through the portal of the UP Social Welfare Department.

GIMS Campus and Infrastructure

The Kasna campus in Greater Noida contains the medical college, an attached government hospital, administrative blocks, faculty housing and separate hostels for male and female students. GIMS Hospital is a multi-specialty tertiary care centre for Gautam Buddha Nagar and nearby districts in western Uttar Pradesh. Its patient services give MBBS and postgraduate students the clinical experience required during their training.

Academic and medical facilities include laboratories for anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology and microbiology. Students also train in clinical wards, the operation theatre complex, ICU and blood bank. On-campus hostel accommodation costs up to INR 72,000 per year. Students who choose to live outside the campus can use Greater Noida's planned transport network, including metro links to Delhi.

GIMS vs LLRM Medical College Meerut vs GSVM Medical College Kanpur

GIMS, LLRM Medical College and GSVM Medical College are government institutions in Uttar Pradesh. Each admits MBBS students through NEET UG and UP state quota counselling. Students comparing them may consider their locations, years of operation, cutoff competition, postgraduate options and volume of clinical training.

LLRM Meerut and GSVM Kanpur have operated for longer and have developed wider postgraduate portfolios and larger clinical volumes over several decades. GIMS offers the location benefit of being close to Delhi-NCR, which can support clinical electives and careers in corporate hospitals after postgraduate training. Its NEET cutoff is generally higher than the cutoffs at the Meerut and Kanpur colleges because many applicants prefer a government medical college in the NCR region.
