RIMS Raipur was established in 2012 under the management of the Lord Buddha Education Society. The institute is affiliated with Ayush and Health Sciences University, Raipur, and holds recognition from the Medical Council of India. In the IIRF 2022 rankings, RIMS Raipur was placed at 252 out of 300 institutions in the nursing category.

RIMS offers a 5.5-year MBBS program at the undergraduate level, which includes a mandatory 1-year internship. The college admits 150 students annually, with eligibility requiring a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English at the 10+2 level (40% for SC/ST candidates). Admissions are based on NEET rankings through CGDME’s centralized counseling, with the 2024 NEET cutoff for the General Category (overall) at 763,928. In addition to the MBBS program, RIMS also offers BSc. Nursing. For admission to the B.Sc. Nursing program, candidates need a minimum aggregate score of 50% in 10+2 with Bio-Science subjects. Admissions to the UG Nursing courses at RIMS are based on merit in the qualifying exams. The total fee for the B.Sc Nursing program is INR 2.25 lakhs.

RIMS also offers an MD program at the postgraduate level, with a course duration of 3 years. To be eligible for this program, candidates must hold an MBBS degree and have completed a one-year rotational internship from a recognized university. Admission is based on the NEET PG score. The total course fee for the MD program is INR 1.14 crore.
