The basic eligibility required for admission into the B.P.Ed courses are mentioned below:
Students who wish to pursue B. P. Ed must take note of the following eligibility criteria which have to be met meticulously. Keep in mind that this course entails different durations. So, the eligibility criteria will differ according to the duration of the course.
- For the duration of 03 to 04 years:
- Students who have passed their 10+ 2 examinations with a minimum of 50% marks from any recognized board are qualified. However, the minimum requirement of marks may differ from college to college. In some colleges, the accepted minimum percentage is 60%.
- The students are required to be at least 17 years old or above.
- For the duration of 01 to 02 years:
- Candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree from a renowned college or university with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible. However, the minimum requirement of marks may differ from college to college. In some colleges, the accepted minimum percentage is 60%.
- The candidates are required to be between the age of 19- 25.
- Both male and female candidates are allowed to apply, but unfortunately, in some cases, some colleges prefer male candidates over female candidates.
- In addition to the criteria mentioned above, the candidates must qualify for the physical screening round and the personal interview round after the physical screening round, conducted by the respective college or the university.
- Although not compulsory, it is preferred that candidates have prior experience in sports competitions like inter-college or inter- school competitions.
