BSW stands for Bachelor in Social Work, and is an undergraduate degree offering a professional course to the young, aspiring candidates of the country. The course is generally a three – year long program, however with the implementation of the new education policy, the tenure of the course in the coming years might increase to four – years. The candidates are required to complete the three different tiers within the BSW course, that is, the foundation course, the elective course, and finally the fieldwork, in the time – span of three years.
In order to be eligible to acquire a seat for pursuing a Bachelor in Social Work course, the candidates must qualify 10 + 2 levels with at least 55% of the aggregate scores from a recognized board. As most of the colleges undertake admission to the BSW course on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination. Students can either go for admission to the regular course or can also pursue distance education or open learning.
BSW admissions for the ongoing year must have been completed in most of the colleges but soon the admission forms shall be released for the next year. Candidates can prefer the University of Delhi, the National Institute of Social Work and Social Sciences, and many other colleges and universities across India to pursue their Bachelor in Social Work (BSW).
