The beautiful Vistar Resort in Mylasandra Dinne, Bengaluru, hosted a night of celebration and awards on April 30, 2024, hosted by GIBS Business School. More than a thousand professionals, students, and prominent dignitaries attended the Student of the Year 2024 ceremony, which is the culmination of academic and extracurricular achievements. The ceremony provided a stage for an incredible evening of inspiration and entertainment by showcasing the students' cultural talents in addition to their scholastic prowess.

Distinguished Guests and a Night to Remember

A stellar roster of prominent guests, each outstanding in their own right, graced the Student of the Year 2024 ceremony. The event was conceptualized and hosted in large part by Ritesh Goyal, the innovative GIBS Business School Managing Director and Founder.

The event also featured Chetan Garga, the former MD and Country Head of ALLState India Pvt. Ltd., who brought his vast corporate experience to the evening's discussions. Ankur Agarwal, co-founder of the cutting-edge service Dunzo, and T. Sathish Kumar, founder and managing director of Milky Mist Diary, presented ideas from their own entrepreneurial trajectories. Entrepreneur, actor, and motivational speaker Bharath Thippireddy gave the occasion a special touch of entertainment mixed with inspiration.

A Showcase of Talent and Achievements

The evening was vibrant with performances that captivated the audience. GIBS students presented mesmerizing dance routines, including a special performance by Kamlesh Patel, known from "Dance India Dance S02." The fashion show by the students added a flair of style and creativity, highlighting the diverse talents within the GIBS community.

From the PGDM program:

  • Eshwar Rao LS, PGDM: Eshwar was awarded the prestigious J.P. Goyal Memorial Award, garnering the title of Student of the Year 2024. His exceptional performance earned him a prize of Rs. 51,000 and a trophy, marking him as a standout among his peers.
  • Rohit K, PGDM: Rohit received the Shakuntala Devi Award for being the Academic Topper of the year. His dedication to excellence was rewarded with Rs. 11,000 and a trophy, highlighting his scholarly achievements.
  • Swathi N, PGDM: Swathi was honored with the Atal Bihari Vajpai Award as the second-best academic topper, receiving a prize of Rs. 7,000 and a trophy. Her consistent academic excellence set a high standard within the PGDM program.

From the BBA program:

  • Virmani Prerana Jitendra, BBA: Virmani received the J.P. Goyal Memorial Award for Student of the Year 2024, along with Rs. 21,000 and a trophy, acknowledging her leadership and academic prowess.
  • Koushika P, BBA: Koushika was awarded the Shakuntala Devi Award for Academic Topper, receiving Rs. 11,000 and a trophy for her outstanding academic records.
  • Jayasree G A, BBA: Jayasree earned the Atal Bihari Vajpai Award, recognized as the second-best academic topper with a prize of Rs. 7,000 and a trophy, affirming her strong academic commitment and performance.
