Ramaiah Institute of Management (MSRIM) is a private management institute in Bengaluru, founded in 1995 by the Gokula Education Foundation. A constituent of the Ramaiah Group of Institutions, it offers a PGDM approved by AICTE, accredited by NBA and recognised by AIU as equivalent to an MBA degree.
The institute offers two on-campus programmes: a two-year, full-time PGDM with 300 AICTE-approved seats and a Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) with 10 approved seats. The FPM takes 4 to 5 years and holds AIU recognition as equivalent to a PhD. MSRIM also offers AICTE-approved online management programmes with 500 approved seats each.
The full PGDM fee is INR 10,00,000, while the FPM fee totals INR 2.05 Lakhs across four years. For the 2025 graduating batch, MSRIM reported an average CTC of INR 8 LPA and a highest CTC of INR 23 LPA. Applications for the PGDM 2026-28 batch are open, with selection conducted through an online application, presentation, group discussion and personal interview.

MSRIM Admission Process
MSRIM manages applications, shortlisting and final selection internally. Seats are not allotted through a centralised counselling authority. The institute does not list a management quota admission route, and AICTE has approved no NRI or international student quota for 2026-27.
PGDM Eligibility
- Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
- The minimum aggregate requirement is 50%, with a reduced requirement of 45% for SC and ST applicants.
- Students in their final year may apply, provided they submit proof of degree completion by September 30, 2026.
- Applicants with any pending backlog paper are ineligible.
PGDM Application and Selection Steps
- Complete the online application and pay the application fee of INR 1,000.
- Upload a presentation outlining academic qualifications, achievements and career objectives.
- Check for an email invitation to the interview after shortlisting.
- Participate in a group discussion and personal interview.
- Accept the admission offer and complete the enrolment requirements.
The admissions panel makes the final selection decision. Interviews may take place online or on campus, with faculty members and industry experts participating in the panel. Entrance scorecards are optional but preferred, giving the presentation and interview an important role in selection.
The NIRF submission records 572 enrolled students. Of these, 289 were from outside Karnataka and 283 were from within the state, indicating a slightly larger out-of-state group. Students recorded under socially challenged categories numbered 288.
FPM Eligibility
Admission to the doctoral programme requires an eligible academic qualification and a valid entrance examination score.
- A master's degree in Engineering, Technology, Management, Economics, Social Sciences or Commerce with at least 60% marks is accepted. OBC and Backward Class candidates receive a relaxation of 5 percentage points.
- Alternative qualifications include a two-year postgraduate diploma with 60%, a five-year integrated master's degree with 60%, or a four-year bachelor's degree with a CGPA of 6.5 out of 10.
- Applicants with CA, ICWA or CS qualifications must have 50% in the professional qualification and 60% in their degree.
- A valid CAT, GATE, GRE, GMAT, UGC-NET, JRF, CSIR or SET score obtained within the preceding three years is compulsory.
FPM Selection Steps
- Apply with the required academic qualifications and a valid test score, specifying both a primary and a secondary research area.
- If shortlisted, present a tentative research proposal for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Attend a personal interview. Interview performance determines the merit list.
MSRIM Cutoffs and Entrance Score Requirements
MSRIM does not publish a PGDM percentile cutoff. Entrance scorecards are preferred but optional for this programme. FPM applicants must provide a valid examination score from the previous three years.
| Programme | Accepted Examinations | Cutoff or Score Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| PGDM | CAT/MAT/XAT | No published percentile cutoff; scorecards optional but preferred |
| FPM | CAT/GATE/GRE/GMAT/UGC-NET/JRF/CSIR/SET | Valid score compulsory; accepted from the preceding 3 years |
MSRIM Placements
The Career Guidance and Placement Assistance Cell coordinates recruitment at MSRIM. Final placements begin in the last week of September each year. For the 2025 batch, the institute reported a placement rate of 94%, an average CTC of INR 8 LPA and a highest CTC of INR 23 LPA.
| Placement Measure | Institute-Reported Figure for 2025 |
|---|---|
| Highest CTC | INR 23 LPA |
| Average CTC | INR 8 LPA |
| Placement rate | 94% |
| Recruiting partners | 121 |
| Sectors represented | 15 |
Placement Figures Submitted to NIRF
The institute's NIRF submission provides graduate counts, placement counts and median salaries for three successive cohorts.
| Graduating Batch | Students Placed out of Total Graduates | Median Annual Salary |
|---|---|---|
| 2024-25 | 238 out of 280 | INR 7.80 Lakhs |
| 2023-24 | 256 out of 289 | INR 7.80 Lakhs |
| 2022-23 | 206 out of 228 | INR 7.60 Lakhs |
The two sets of placement figures use different reporting measures. MSRIM reports a 94% placement rate and an average CTC of INR 8 LPA for the 2025 batch, while its NIRF submission records 238 placements among 280 graduates and a median annual salary of INR 7.80 Lakhs. Average and median salaries are different measures, and the reported placement percentages use different bases.
Recruiter Distribution by Sector
The recruitment pool covered 121 companies across 15 sectors. Financial services and consulting accounted for more participating companies than information technology.
- Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI): 31 companies
- Consulting: 20 companies
- Information Technology: 12 companies
- Market Research: 9 companies
- Manufacturing: 7 companies
- Media: 7 companies
- FMCG and E-commerce: 6 companies
- Logistics and Supply Chain: 6 companies
- Staffing: 6 companies
Across the three reported graduating cohorts, a combined total of 5 students proceeded to higher education.
MSRIM Campus Life and Infrastructure
MSRIM is located at Gate No. 8, Ramaiah Group Campus, MSRIT Post, Bengaluru. It operates within the wider institutional campus rather than on a separate standalone site, giving the management institute a compact setting.
The library occupies 917 sq. metres, including a 300 sq. metre reading room that accommodates 70 students. Its collection includes 10,214 book titles, 33,251 volumes and 28,400 ProQuest e-books. Periodical subscriptions comprise 69 national journals, 19 international journals and 14 daily newspapers.
Electronic resources include ProQuest, Emerald case studies, Capitaline, Scopus and Turnitin. Library operations use LIBSOFT automation, while institutional memberships with IIM Bangalore and DELNET extend access beyond the institute's own holdings. Internet connectivity is supported by a 250 Mbps leased line and 25 Wi-Fi access points.
The Ramaiah Group maintains separate hostel blocks for male and female students within the campus, near the institute. Facilities include Wi-Fi, UPS-backed electricity, RO drinking water, geysers, laundry and food services. An on-campus doctor and CCTV monitoring are also available.
MSRIM Scholarships
MSRIM lists six scholarship categories for PGDM students, covering academic merit, reserved categories, rural backgrounds, defence families, parental income and achievements in sports or cultural activities. Assistance is awarded on merit and category grounds; the institute does not publish an entrance-score scholarship schedule with fixed slabs.
| Scholarship Category | Eligibility Basis |
|---|---|
| Academic Merit | Performance in the qualifying undergraduate degree |
| SC, ST and OBC Assistance | Membership of the specified reserved categories |
| Rural Student Support | Applicants from rural or semi-urban backgrounds |
| Defence Family Assistance | Children of armed forces personnel |
| Income-Based Assistance | Annual parental income below INR 2.5 Lakhs |
| Sports and Cultural Achievement | Distinction in sports, arts or cultural activities |
Education loans are also facilitated through partner banks. The NIRF submission records zero students receiving full tuition reimbursement from institutional, government or private sources. The reported assistance therefore does not include any recorded full-tuition reimbursement recipients.
MSRIM, JAGSoM Bangalore and Alliance University Comparison
MSRIM, JAGSoM Bangalore and Alliance University are private Bengaluru management institutions serving a similar applicant pool. MSRIM's total PGDM fee is INR 10,00,000, compared with Alliance University's MBA tuition of INR 15,00,000. The supplied comparison does not provide an online-published programme fee for JAGSoM.
| Particulars | MSRIM | JAGSoM Bangalore | Alliance University |
|---|---|---|---|
| Programme | AICTE-approved PGDM | AICTE-approved PGDM | MBA awarded by a private university |
| Accepted examinations | CAT/XAT/MAT | CAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT, MAT | CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, KMAT, NMAT, GMAT, AMAT |
| Entrance score requirement | Optional but preferred | Minimum 60 percentile | The university's AMAT examination is accepted |
| Average CTC | INR 8 LPA, 2025 batch | INR 13.3 LPA, 2021-23 batch | INR 7.5 LPA |
| Highest CTC | INR 23 LPA, 2025 batch | INR 22.25 LPA | INR 26.1 LPA, 2023 |
Among the figures listed, JAGSoM has the highest average CTC and is the only institution with a stated percentile floor for shortlisting. Alliance University has the highest individual offer and provides an additional entrance route through AMAT. These salary figures cover different reporting periods.
MSRIM has a lower published programme fee than Alliance University and accepts PGDM applications without making entrance scorecards compulsory. Its selection process allows applicants to present qualifications and achievements beyond their examination percentile. A complete three-way fee comparison is unavailable because JAGSoM's fee is not supplied.
MSRIM FAQs
Ques. Can an applicant enter MSRIM's PGDM selection process without a CAT score?
Ans. Yes. CAT, MAT and XAT scorecards are accepted, but MSRIM describes them as optional and preferred rather than compulsory for PGDM selection. No PGDM percentile cutoff is published. A valid entrance score is compulsory for the doctoral FPM.
Ques. Which salary figures were reported for MSRIM's 2025 graduates?
Ans. MSRIM reported an average CTC of INR 8 LPA and a highest CTC of INR 23 LPA. For the same graduating cohort, the NIRF submission records a median annual salary of INR 7.80 Lakhs and 238 placed students out of 280 graduates.
Ques. How does the PGDM fee compare with MSRIM's reported employment outcomes?
Ans. The total programme fee is INR 10,00,000, against a reported average annual CTC of INR 8 LPA. The original fee comparison suggests a recovery period of roughly two years of gross salary, but these figures do not establish an individual fee-recovery period. The NIRF-reported median annual salary remained at INR 7.80 Lakhs for the last two cohorts, showing no increase in that salary measure.
Ques. What recognition supports the MBA equivalence of MSRIM's PGDM?
Ans. AIU recognises the PGDM as equivalent to an MBA degree. The programme also has AICTE approval and NBA accreditation. MSRIM does not award a university MBA of its own.
Ques. What accommodation and hostel amenities can MSRIM students access?
Ans. Separate male and female hostel blocks are provided by the Ramaiah Group within the campus, close to MSRIM. Amenities include Wi-Fi, backup electricity, RO drinking water, geysers, laundry and food services, on-campus doctor availability and CCTV monitoring.
Ques. What conditions apply to PGDM applicants who have not yet finished graduation?
Ans. Final-year students can apply for the 2026-28 intake, but they must provide evidence of degree completion by September 30, 2026. Applicants with any pending backlog paper are not eligible.
Ques. How do MSRIM and Alliance University differ in fees, qualifications and placements?
Ans. MSRIM charges INR 10,00,000 for its PGDM, while Alliance University's MBA tuition is INR 15,00,000. The listed average CTC figures are INR 8 LPA for MSRIM and INR 7.5 LPA for Alliance. Alliance's listed highest offer is INR 26.1 LPA, compared with MSRIM's INR 23 LPA. Alliance accepts its own AMAT examination and awards a university MBA; MSRIM offers an NBA-accredited PGDM with MBA equivalence.
Ques. Does MSRIM offer an admission route that bypasses its regular selection stages?
Ans. The institute does not list a management quota route. Applicants follow the application, presentation, group discussion and interview process. For 2026-27, AICTE has approved no NRI or international student quota at MSRIM.
