Ramaiah Institute of Management (MSRIM) conducts admissions through its own application and selection process. Its two on-campus programmes are the flagship two-year PGDM and the doctoral Fellow Programme in Management (FPM). The PGDM has AICTE approval, NBA accreditation and AIU recognition as equivalent to an MBA. The full programme fee is INR 10,00,000.

The FPM is a full-time residential programme recognised by AIU as equivalent to a PhD, with fees totalling INR 2,05,000 across the listed four-year payment schedule. For 2026-27, the approved intake is 300 PGDM students and 10 FPM students. MSRIM manages PGDM seat allocation independently, without centralised counselling.

MSRIM Postgraduate Admission: PGDM

The PGDM is MSRIM's flagship two-year management programme. Its AICTE-approved intake of 300 seats for 2026-27 remains unchanged from 300 seats in 2025-26. AIU recognises the AICTE-approved, NBA-accredited qualification as equivalent to an MBA; MSRIM does not offer a university MBA.

The institute does not list a management quota admission route. All applicants follow the application, presentation, group discussion and interview process. AICTE has approved neither an NRI quota nor an international student quota for 2026-27. Admission through lateral entry or transfer is unavailable, including entry into a later PGDM semester.

PGDM Eligibility and Accepted Examinations

Applicant Category Academic Requirement Selection Method
General and other categories Bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks Application review, presentation, group discussion and personal interview
SC and ST candidates Bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 45% aggregate marks
Final-year students May apply, provided degree-completion proof is submitted by September 30, 2026
  • The qualifying degree must be awarded by a recognised university.
  • Applicants with any pending backlog paper are ineligible.
  • Accepted examination scores include CAT, MAT, KMAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT and ATMA.
  • Entrance scorecards are optional but preferred during selection.
  • MSRIM also offers AICTE-approved online management programmes with 500 seats each.
  • The PGDM in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Venture Development is being closed.

PGDM Application Procedure

The online application fee is INR 1,000 and is non-refundable in every case. Applicants should establish their eligibility before making this payment, particularly because pending backlogs make a candidate ineligible.

  1. Register on the MSRIM admissions portal using an active email address and mobile number.
  2. Verify the email address carefully, since it cannot be changed later.
  3. Complete the application form and upload the requested documents.
  4. Pay the INR 1,000 application fee online.
  5. Submit the form and monitor its progress through the application dashboard.

The required documents are:

  • Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets.
  • Graduation certificate and all graduation mark sheets.
  • An entrance examination scorecard, if available.
  • Valid government-issued photo identification.
  • Two passport-sized photographs.

PGDM Shortlisting and Final Selection

Selection considers the academic record, presentation and interview together rather than relying solely on an entrance percentile cutoff. The admissions panel makes the final decision.

  1. Submit the online application and pay the application fee.
  2. Upload a PowerPoint presentation describing academic background, achievements and career goals.
  3. Shortlisted applicants receive an interview invitation by email.
  4. Attend a group discussion followed by a personal interview.
  5. Accept the offer letter and complete the enrolment formalities.

Interviews are conducted either online or on campus. Faculty members and industry experts participate in the interview panel.

One student account describes applying with a 90 percentile MAT score. The student first made a telephone enquiry, registered online and then attended a Skype interview. After selection, the student paid the registration fee of INR 50,000.

Another student account describes applying with a MAT score, after which MSRIM updated the application and scheduled an interview. The account notes that interviews may take place in person or online.

PGDM Fee Schedule

The total PGDM fee of INR 10,00,000 is divided into a registration payment and four instalments.

Payment Component Amount
Registration fee INR 50,000
Instalment I INR 2,00,000
Instalment II INR 2,50,000
Instalment III INR 2,50,000
Instalment IV INR 2,50,000
Total programme fee INR 10,00,000

Subject to revision. Kindly check with the official sources to confirm

Contact the institute or consult its official admission page for exact fee details.

PGDM Withdrawal and Refund Policy

The stated refund window has closed. MSRIM permitted withdrawal refunds only before June 23, 2026, with a deduction of INR 1,000, under its published policy referring to AICTE guidelines. The policy permits no refund after that window. The separate INR 1,000 application fee remains non-refundable. [MSRIM refund policy](https://msrim.in/admission).

MSRIM Doctoral Admission: FPM

The Fellow Programme in Management is MSRIM's full-time residential doctoral programme. It has 10 AICTE-approved seats for 2026-27 and AIU recognition as equivalent to a PhD. Applications are invited once each academic year; the supplied admission information states that the 2026 application window has not been announced.

FPM Academic Eligibility

Applicants must satisfy an accepted qualification route and the additional admission requirements. Meeting the minimum marks alone does not establish eligibility.

Qualification Route Minimum Academic Requirement
Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, Management, Economics, Social Sciences or Commerce First class with 60%; a relaxation of 5 percentage points applies to OBC and Backward Class candidates
Two-year postgraduate diploma 60% aggregate or an equivalent grade point average
CA, ICWA or CS with a B.Com or another degree 50% in the professional qualification and 60% in the degree
Five-year integrated master's degree in any discipline 60% aggregate or an equivalent grade point average
Four-year or eight-semester bachelor's degree First class with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 out of 10
  • The bachelor's qualification must involve at least three years of study after Class 12.
  • Foreign degree qualifications require AIU equivalence certification.
  • A valid entrance score is compulsory for FPM admission.
  • Accepted tests are CAT, GATE, GRE, GMAT, UGC-NET, JRF, CSIR and SET.
  • The submitted score must be from the preceding three years.

FPM Application Procedure

  1. Complete the online application through the MSRIM admissions portal.
  2. Provide a correct, active email address and mobile number.
  3. Upload scanned copies of all documents requested in the form.
  4. Include employment history, references and academic achievements.
  5. Attach the statement of purpose and entrance test score details.
  6. Identify a primary and a secondary research area.
  7. Pay the applicable application fee.

The research areas include Finance, Marketing, Analytics, Strategy and Healthcare Management. Providing false information can lead to expulsion, including after admission has been granted.

FPM Selection Procedure

The respective research areas shortlist applicants using their application forms. Selection then involves document verification, a research presentation and an interview.

  1. MSRIM reviews the application and valid entrance score for shortlisting.
  2. The institute verifies academic and work-experience documents.
  3. Candidates present a research proposal for 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Candidates attend a personal interview, which determines final selection and the merit list.

Provisional Admission for Final-Year Candidates

  • Selected final-year applicants initially receive provisional admission.
  • The degree certificate must be submitted before the programme begins.
  • Mark sheets and certificates must be provided before the first semester ends.
  • Failure to meet these submission deadlines automatically cancels provisional admission.

FPM Fee Schedule

The listed FPM payments consist of a registration fee and annual fees for four years, totalling INR 2,05,000.

Payment Component Amount
Registration fee INR 5,000
First year INR 50,000

MSRIM Admission FAQs

Ques. Can I apply for MSRIM's PGDM without submitting a CAT score?

Ans. Yes. MSRIM accepts CAT, MAT, KMAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT and ATMA scores, but scorecards are optional and preferred for PGDM selection. The presentation, group discussion and interview are also considered. FPM applicants must provide a valid entrance test score.

Ques. Which academic qualifications are required to enter the PGDM selection process?

Ans. Applicants need a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university. The minimum aggregate is 50% for general candidates and 45% for SC and ST candidates. A pending backlog paper makes an applicant ineligible.

Ques. What must applicants in their final year of graduation submit for the 2026-28 intake?

Ans. Final-year students may apply for the PGDM 2026-28 batch, but they must submit proof of degree completion by September 30, 2026. Failure to provide that proof can jeopardise admission.

Ques. Has MSRIM changed its approved PGDM intake for 2026-27?

Ans. No. The AICTE-approved PGDM intake remains 300 seats for 2026-27, matching the 300 seats approved for 2025-26. The doctoral FPM has 10 approved seats.

Ques. Is there a quota-based route that bypasses MSRIM's regular selection process?

Ans. MSRIM does not list a management quota route. Applicants must complete the regular presentation, group discussion and interview stages. AICTE has approved no NRI or international student quota for 2026-27.

Ques. How much does the PGDM application cost, and can that payment be returned?

Ans. The application costs INR 1,000, payable online when submitting the form. This payment is non-refundable in every case.

Ques. What refund terms apply when a student withdraws from the PGDM?

Ans. Under the stated AICTE-linked refund window, withdrawal refunds were permitted only before June 23, 2026, with an INR 1,000 deduction. That window has closed, and the institute's published policy permits no refund afterward. The total PGDM fee is INR 10,00,000.

Ques. What should applicants include in the presentation submitted before interview shortlisting?

Ans. After paying the application fee, applicants upload a PowerPoint presentation covering their academic background, achievements and career objectives. Interview shortlisting follows this submission.

Ques. Which approvals establish the qualification status of MSRIM's PGDM?

Ans. The programme has AICTE approval and NBA accreditation. AIU recognises it as equivalent to an MBA degree. MSRIM does not award a university MBA.

Ques. Which student backgrounds and achievements qualify for MSRIM's scholarship categories?

Ans. The six PGDM support categories cover academic merit, reserved categories, rural backgrounds, defence families, income-based eligibility, and sports or cultural achievements. Income-based aid applies where annual parental income is below INR 2.5 lakh.
