Indore, 2023 – The prestigious convocation ceremony of SVKM’s NMIMS Indore has been celebrated for the academic accomplishments of distinguished graduates from the School of Technology Management & Engineering (STME) and the School of Commerce (SOC).

 The Former CFO of Adani Group Ltd and Chief Guest Shri Snehal Desai attended the convocation ceremony. The CFO of General Mills Shri Sheshadri Sevalgi, brought grandeur to the occasion as a guest of honour. The convocation ceremony was conducted on the Second Floor of NMIMS Indore at the Seminar Hall. The grand convocation ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests including the Pro Vice-Chancellor of SVKM’s NMIMS, Shri Akhilesh Rathi, Presiding Officer, Nominee of the Hon’ble Chancellor, SVKM’s NMIMS, Dr. Anshuman Jaswal, Director, SVKM’s NMIMS Indore, Dr. Aaquil Bunglowala, Associate Dean, STME, Indore, Dr. Rajeev Srivastava, Program Chairperson, SOC, Indore, Dr. Ashutosh Hajela, Associate Dean, SOL, Indore, Dr. Niranjan Shastri, Program Chairperson, SBM, Indore and Mr. Ashish Apte, Nominee of the Registrar, NMIMS.

The ceremony commenced with an academic procession, followed by an inspiring invocation and the resonating notes of the NMIMS anthem. The most noteworthy aspect of the event was the annual report, which showcased the achievements of the graduating students from each school. Additionally, the ceremony recognized and awarded exceptional student achievers, in addition to conferring degrees. Dr. Rajeev Srivastava concluded the ceremony with a vote of thanks.

The graduation ceremony was a significant event, honoring the students' perseverance and effort. It also ignited optimism for their future prospects. Following the ceremony, a charming photo session and celebratory lunch were enjoyed by everyone, generating unforgettable memories for the graduates, faculty, and guests.

Dr. Sharad Mhaiskar, Pro Vice Chancellor, SVKM’s NMIMS has stated in his inspiring welcome address, “Congratulations to graduating students and NMIMS. You should feel proud to be represented NMIMS brand. As you embark on your professional journey, it is important to recognize that we are living in a rapidly changing world where technology is disrupting businesses and new leadership paradigms are emerging. NMIMS has been responsive to challenges, so I encourage you to uphold the organization's legacy and culture as you join and strengthen it. Remember, true leaders do not just create followers; they create more leaders. Stay true to your values, be proud of your alma mater, and always strive to keep learning.

While addressing the graduating students, Shri Snehal Desai, Former CFO, of Adani Group Ltd shared some valuable advice. According to him, corporate growth is only possible when an individual’s commitment to the organization is recognized. Commitment is the key to success and everyone should strive to complete the assigned work gracefully. Mr. Desai advised the students to avoid the social media and smartphone culture and instead engage in reading extensively and pursuing a hobby. He also stressed the importance of working with people who challenge them on a daily basis.

The CFO of General Mills, Shri Sheshadri Sevalgi, emphasized the importance of being open to gaining knowledge and insights in order to grow in life. He shared three personal mantras that have been successful for him: having bold aspirations, self-belief, and confidence, and investing in oneself by having a sense of purpose and building overall potential and capability.

Director, SVKM’s NMIMS Indore Dr. Anshuman Jaswal shared his reviews of the School of Technology Management & Engineering (STME) and School of Commerce (SOC). He emphasized their contributions to academia and society and said graduating from an esteemed institution should make one proud. Dr. Jaswal noted that technology is increasingly taking precedence in all areas, and a revolution is imminent. Graduates will be at the helm of industries during this time, so they must be prepared for the changes ahead.
