MGM University Aurangabad is accepting applications for PhD program. The candidates can apply online through the MGM University admission portal. The selection will be based on the PhD Entrance Test (PET) and personal interview. The application fee of INR 5000 needs to be paid at the time of submission.

MGM University PhD Admission Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have a Master's degree or equivalent qualifications from any Indian or foreign institution with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade.
• Candidates with a 4-year bachelor's degree with a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade are eligible.
• Candidates who have completed the M.Phil. program or equivalent qualification with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade from a foreign educational institution are eligible to apply.
• A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade is provided to SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / PwD / EWS candidates.

MGM University PET Details

• The selection is based on the University’s online PET followed by personal interviews, conducted at the University campus.
• The Entrance exam syllabus consists of 50% of research methodology, and 50% will be subject-specific.
• Students who have secured 50% marks in the entrance test are eligible to be called for the interview.
• The UGC NET / UGC-CSIR NET / GATE / CEED and similar National level tests qualified candidates are selected based on the personal interview.
• A relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed in the entrance examination for certain categories of candidates.
• The weightage for the selection of candidates based on the entrance test is 70%, and the performance in the interview is 30%.
• The score of PET shall be valid for the subsequent two academic years.
• The Test consists of two parts (each question of 2 marks with no negative marking):
  • Research Methodology section consisting of 50 MCQs to be attempted in one hour.
  • Subject Specific Test consisting of 50 MCQs to be attempted in one hour.
• Candidates can log in late up to 15 minutes only from the start time. After that, they will not be allowed to appear in the test.

MGM University PhD Duration

• PhD Program shall be for a minimum duration of three years, and a maximum duration of six years from the date of admission.
• A maximum of an additional two years can be given through a process of re-registration, however, the total period for completion of a Ph.D. program should not exceed eight years from the date of admission.
• Female PhD scholars and PwD (having more than 40% disability) candidates are allowed an additional relaxation of two years, however, the total period for completion of a PhD should not exceed ten years from the date of admission.
• Female PhD Scholars may be provided Maternity Leave / Child Care Leave for up to 240 days in the entire duration of the Ph.D. program.
