NExT 2023 Mock Exam has been canceled for the 2019 batch of MBBS graduates. NExT mock test was going to be held on July 28, 2023, but according to Commission (NMC)’the mock test is canceled and the registration fee will also be refunded for the same. AIIMS-New Delhi was responsible for conducting the theoretical portion of the nationwide test

On 13th July, the National Medical Commission (NMC) took the decision to defer the NExT exam until further notice. This decision was made following the advice provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Candidates from the General or OBC category had to pay an application fee of Rs 2,000 and candidates from candidates SC, ST, and EWS categories had to pay a fee of Rs 1,000 to appear for the NExT mock test. However, candidates under the PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) category were exempted from paying the application fee altogether. The commission faced criticism from students and doctors regarding the mock test fee.

The actual NExT 2023 exam will be conducted for the final-year batch and will have six papers. The mock test will consist of two papers. The purpose of the mock test is to make them experience the students with a preview of the exam format. To get success in the NExT 2023 exam, candidates must go through the relevant text, grasp the subject matter, and actively participate in practical training.

The purpose of the mock test is to familiarize students with the exam pattern and provide them with a practice opportunity. NExT 2023 Mock test is held for only two papers. The first paper will have a duration of 3 hours, while the second paper will last for 3.5 hours. The first paper focuses on medicine and allied subjects and will consist of 120 questions. The second paper covers surgery and allied subjects and will contain 140 questions. In the mock test, each correct answer is awarded 1 mark, while an incorrect answer results in a deduction of a -1/4 mark. As part of the mock test, students are required to follow this marking scheme in order to simulate the real exam scenario and gain an understanding of how the evaluation process works.
