Yes, research facilities in BHU are very popular. The Institute of Science consists of 13 departments and 4 interdisciplinary centres, The Life Science departments include Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Botany, Zoology and Molecular & Human Genetics. The 5 life science departments interact with each other via a Department of Biotechnology (Govt of India) supported Interdisciplinary School of Life Sciences (DBT-ISLS). The 3 departments of mathematical sciences include Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science which interact with each other via a Department of Science & technology (Govt of India) supported Centre for Interdisciplinary Mathematical Sciences (DST-CIMS). The 3 departments of Earth Sciences include Geology, Geophysics and Geography. In addition, the departments of Physics and Chemistry are both very large departments of the Institute.
