- The lack of hostel facilities for female pgs
- Inadequate wards for psychiatry patients No rooms for rehabilitation or therapies
Remarks :
Got admission through All India Quota in NEET PG entrance exam My 1st option was this college as this is the number 1 in Kerala. This has the maximum MD psychiatry seats in the state with good load of patients and also with a wing working in one of the mental health centres in the state The college is situated in the capital of the state With access to all amenities including an international airport
Course Curriculum Overview :
Psychiatry was my first and literally the only choice as I got interested in it during my undergraduate period. Plus it is one of the branch where work life balance is considered important The faculties here include HOD, assistant and associate professors and senior residents. The postings are duly filled in time Faculties are keen to involve in the daily functioning of the ward and opds, and takes rounds daily with extensive case discussions Plus academics are carried out almost 4 times a week We can avail a week off every week as per the manual Faculties are friendly and are approachable Exams are conducted once in a year with moderate to difficult difficulty level and strict evaluation CMEs, workshops and seminars are held
Internships Opportunities :
Only after completing the third year course and passing the exams held by the university, we can opt for residency programme. 2 seats are available for senior residency here, although our own students may get a preference, but the toppers of the exam from any college can apply for the same
Placement Experience :
After completing the 3 year course, we have to do 1 year of resisency in a government setup. Unfortunately the residents seats are only 2 here so that we have to search another college or hospital or have to wait in most cases. Only when we complete our residency, we will be allowed to practice on our own On the other hand you can apply for psc, upsc, esi Or similar exams conducted by the government and get palced and can continue ur residency and career there
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Caution deposit - 10000 Ist yr fee 66000 Miscellaneous fee in the first year 5000 Library fee 2000 2nd year - total fee 67000 A bond of 50 lakhs has to be signed. Hostel accommodation and fee are separate Other books and studymaterials has to be brought by self Scholarships like e- grantz are available and is covered regularly
Campus Life :
This is someplace where you can reform yourselves. Your talents are definitely valued and encouraged A freshers party is organized every year 2 months post admission which is a colourful event with cultural activities A PG fest is done every year for pg students preceded by a whole months of arts and sports competitions, and usually take place in April to june The cultural festivals of the state are also celebrated both fir the staff as well including the patients The PG Association is formed by the PGS and is in the forefront The library is huge with access to international journals and study materials, wifi, computers and amble space for reading
Hostel Facilities :
The hostels for women PGs are limited and crowded with 3 per room at the minimum Many will not get a room until the third year because the female pg are far more in number Rooms are shared with common washrooms No separate quarters for pg students Most have to seek an accommodation outside for a long period on their own The neatness is moderate, cleaning staff are permanent Mess is okay, but doesnot qualify to be termed as good Security is pretty good Also have washing machine, water filters The boys hostel for male pgs is far better as most get a single room, and mess is better

I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.

I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty
