- We have amazing faculties who are skilled and helpful. Also, the food at canteen is good and hygienic.
- The active committees who are always planning one thing or the other.
Dislikes
- Enclosed infrastructure. A single lawn with a stage joined to hold events. The absence of a single big auditorium.
- Having hectic class schedule and lack of exposure.
Remarks :
Initially, I got admission at Nift Kangra. But, it was impossible to reach there at the expected time because of no direct connectivity and I had to pass the opportunity. So, we looked for colleges in town and IISU suited best for us according to its fee structure and accessibility. No, it doesn’t require any tests or any other criteria to get an admission here.
Course Curriculum Overview :
As jewellery design isn’t a very popular course in the present times, we can say its demand might rise in the coming times. Even now, jewellery designers are being held in interest by big jewellery companies. Which is why i chose the particular course. Also, our faculties are extremely supportive and knowledgeable and never refrain from helping us regarding anything. They teach us practical skills and also make sure we are learning properly. Exams are held semester wise and they are never too difficult as the teachers are kind to us.
Internships Opportunities :
No, not yet. I haven’t done any internship but we are required to be the part of one every summer vacations, at jewellery shops or ventures. Then, we have to submit the work we had done to get marks, no matter the year.
Placement Experience :
No on campus placements are offered for at least our course, others, I’m not really aware of. But, we do have seniors that are head designers at their companies and senior who have successful ventures. You can also get help from the faculties in these cases. Personally, I plan on having a job for some time, then get into jewellery business and get to use what I’m going to learn.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
It is a course of 3 years (6 semesters). The total fees for 3 years come around to 292500 INR. For the first semester, Tuition fees: 36300 INR Admission fees: 500 INR Univ. Env. Fees: 1000 INR Security fees: 2000 INR Practicals fee: 7200 INR Computer fee: 3000 INR Examination fee: 6500 INR The extra charges are to be paid once during a new semester. The total fees for the second semester is 30000 INR. If you opt for conveyance by the college, its fees come around 11000 INR for 5 months. Additionally, you are eligible for a scholarship if your 12th percentage was above 89%.
Campus Life :
As the campus is small, most people know each other. Events do happen but in broad daylight never in the evening or at night. So, if you’re someone who wants to have one happening college life, this might not be it for you. One big event that’s held every year is COSMOS, a fair like 3 day fest. The active committees are a good thing. They regularly hold activities and events for their members and make the socials a little happening. We also have two big libraries. They also pay a lot of attention to sports. All kinds are practiced every morning and a lot of time is giving into these practices.

I heard that btech is no one here for academics and placements for women so its worth it. There are lots of sports opportunities wherever you want you can achieve like horse riding squash etc. theres aviation as well for the girls to fly and achieve their dreams

Yes, students had gotten placements via college in banking and private companies because after completing graduation i also got an opportunity through college but due to some circumstances, i hadn’t got that chance.

You just have to be a student of last year for applying in internship programs and placements. You have to master any skill and then you can get placement. Many small companies helds campaigns in the university and appoint students for job. The average package is around 20-30 per annum. The highest is around 40 to 50 lakh and lowest is around 10 to 20 lakh per annum. 60% of students gets placement in companies . My plans after getting the degree are to master a skill and then apply for a job in a well known company.

I really don't like placement of jecrc bcoz I don't see mt senior going to a great company out campus they are achieving good but in our campus we don't really get into good company they should have increased the number of companies in our college

Campus recruitment training is provided to all course students and it depends on the student whether they want to opt for it or not. After CRT, different companies come to the campus for their recruitment drive.

There is no campus placement here. Students who passed out from here some are finding jobs, some had their good family business and just wanted to get a degree and some started their own startup. College don't provide you any future security.

As every engineering college we get high placements in circuital branches but for non circuitals senior advice to study a particular language , DSA and all to get placements which is somewhere right because chances of circuital branch jobs are high.
