Remarks :

The first reason to take admission in this college was that it is a Government College and had a decent reputation. The admission process was simple. We have a process called REAP (Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process), it is basically a form , filling all our details and on the basis of JEE Main and Class 12th, a merit list is created, on the basis of that we have to choose a college. As i was good in academics, I got this college. The cut off was decent or I would say above average. We have to fill our choice for the college as well as the desired branch we have to take. My first allotment was Poornima College in Jaipur, but after 'Upward Movement" , I got called for another counseling for this college, Government Engineering College Ajmer.

Course Curriculum Overview :

My branch was Information Technology (can say, Computer Science) . As we all know, this century is all about computers and technology, there's a lot of scope and job opportunities too, that's why i took it. Although I didn't have that much interest but after consulting with teachers, friends and family, this decision was taken. The faculty in my college was very good, almost all of them, except a few. All were quite experienced in their respective fields. There was one , my favorite teacher, mathematics teacher, who had degrees in Philosophy, had researches, cosmology, astronomy, universe, I was so fascinated. The teaching methods were usual, chalk board, pen paper, just the routine ones. The teachers used to teach us by the books, and some notes with some homework and assignments. The exams were very timely taken, and the results were also timely announced. The difficulty was normal but sometimes hard.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, I did my internship during Covid times, online. One was from General Electric Another was from Goldman Sachs and one was from Internshlala. They all were not paid. I did one project during final year with my group.

Placement Experience :

Placement opportunities were decent, companies form Delhi, Jaipur, Noida, Ajmer and some other cities used to come for a placement drive. For most of the companies, the minimum CGPA was above 7.5 or 8. Some names are Cyntexa, Metacube. The average package was of 4 lacs and highest was 11 lacs. Most of the companies were service based, and the roles were of developer, analyst and like these. Around 50 percent of my class got placed. I also got offer from 2-3 companies, but due to family problems, I couldn't join. Plus, at the core, I had different interests than purely technical field, so i didn't join.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I paid for an SFS (Self Funded seat) for Information Technology branch. The amount was around 35000 per semester. The fee structure is distributed The grand total per semester was around 35000 rs. My friends with scholarship and caste benefits were paying around 15000 and 20000 rs. per semester. Special ones were paying only 8000 (like Army people, ews category, etc.) There's also one or two scholarships that were popular, I don't remember the names.

Campus Life :

This is the main thing!!! The college infrastructure, where is that. No playground , no canteen, no hostel, no proper rooms, the buildings themselves were so torned out, needed immediate repairs, some even a whole new construction, but no one cares! No one wanted to improve the condition. Hostels, it is compulsory to have a decent hostel in any Bachelor institution, doesn't it? Well, we didn't have any. Very boring infrastructure, no proper planning, waste of land, and many more things. There were no clubs, no social life, in fact, we "created the clubs ' in our college. Yes, 6 clubs were created by us. (our friend's group).

Hostel Facilities :

As i said above, there was no concept of hostel and any kind of stay in our college. There was a private so called hostel, which was built like a jail, the rooms were like cells for prisoners in jail. Yes, you heard right. The food was below average. It was very difficult. After one year, we moved to a farm house nearby, and made our own food. The location was 1 km from our collged so it was feasible. Plus, the rent was not that much, for a whole house, compared to the single and double rooms that people were charging in the city area, which was far also. So, we stayed in the farm house only, 5 friends.

Rajasthan University Review

Placement Experience :

You just have to be a student of last year for applying in internship programs and placements. You have to master any skill and then you can get placement. Many small companies helds campaigns in the university and appoint students for job. The average package is around 20-30 per annum. The highest is around 40 to 50 lakh and lowest is around 10 to 20 lakh per annum. 60% of students gets placement in companies . My plans after getting the degree are to master a skill and then apply for a job in a well known company.

A college review

Placement Experience :

There is no campus placement here. Students who passed out from here some are finding jobs, some had their good family business and just wanted to get a degree and some started their own startup. College don't provide you any future security.
