- 1) You'll get a lot of free time to explore the domains what you are comfortable with. So keep on exploring at the initial stages of the college life.
- Friends, sports and clubs are the other major things I liked in my college life. Friends are so influencial in college life so choose a better company. Coming to sports in the academic stress, sports and clubs are the only way of distraction.
Dislikes
- College infrastructure is not up to the mark, they are old with below average facilities.
- Faculty are biased and show favouritism towards Tamil students which can be more impactful on a large scale.
Remarks :
I landed into NIT Trichy by writing JEE mains and securing 99.19 percentile in that with a rank of 6.7k approximately. It was a collective decision by me, parents and professors who taught me in my intermediate college. At first I would have gone for IIT Varanasi or IIT Hyderabad in a different branch but due NIT trichy's NIRF ranking, we decided to join in it.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I belong to ECE dept. Each department has it's own course curriculum. Our course is divided into 8 semesters with approximately 5-7 courses each semester along with the labs. I chose ECE because it is the connection between software and hardware worlds. It has more scope and real world applications. Qualification of every professor is PhD in their own field of study but initially I felt so much biased because they teach in tamil as the college in Tamil Nadu and also award good marks for Tamil students. If you are an average student you will face difficulty here initially. You have to work harder than others inorder to prove yourself. Coming to exams, each semester has 3 exams commonly assessment 1, 2 and final end sem assessment.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, I have opted for internship. I'm afraid I can't give the detailed intership opportunities based on our college's TnP cell guidelines. But there are lot opportunities like big tech companies in all aspects like software, hardware, management and analytics. I didn't like placements in my batch because so many companies backed off due to recession.
Placement Experience :
I say my college is overrated in placements and job opportunities. According to my experience if you are skilled and performed well in your academics you will be placed in good company regardless of the college.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Year wise tution fees is approximately 100000 per year or per 2 semesters and hostel fees is around 75000. Coming to additional fees such as festival fee, caution fee, library fee etc will 20000 which is one time payment. The caution fee will be refunded after the course completion. As this is central govt. based university SC,ST students don't have to pay tution fee. All other things are common. For general category OC students also there is a fee remission based on income. If income is 1-5 LPA then there will be no tuition fee, if income is 5-7 LPA some percentage will be reduced in tuition fee. Coming to scholarships there are many scholarships in the college from government and the college alumni. Apart from these you can also apply for outside scholarships such as FFE. The criteria is you can only apply one scholarship per year.
Campus Life :
The life at campus is pretty decent. I would say not so good not so bad. Not that I have imagined. Roughly there are fests, they are sportsfete(sports), nittfest(cultural), festember(college's common fest) and dept symposium fest Probe(ECE). The library is vast, there are so many books, magazines, journals to read and discover. The class rooms are not so good. Coming to sports there will be a regular practice who excel in sports for inter nit sports competitions. There are around 30 clubs in my college. Can't list all of them but based on your intrests clubs are good places to discover and have fun, knowing people, things you don't know.
Hostel Facilities :
Yes I live in hostel. Boys have 4 mess, Annapurna(telugu mess - mosted liked and highly recommend among the others), MM1(north) MM2(south) and Sabari(Kerala). The food is decent and some days it is not that good and it is okay. The menu keeps on changing based on the student feedback. Every month at the end you have to register for mess for upcoming month and it is affordable that is around 5k per month. The hostels are pretty old and are not good. In summer it will be like hell to live because of hot climatic conditions. No air conditioners will be there and no bikes are allowed unless you are a day scholar.

Placements are good like when you rech the 4th semester you will be told to register the Placement portal and you will be charged 5000 to register in that Placement portal after that people from good companies or professional Placement trainers will come and train you give you classes the classes will be there until 5th semester end. After that many Placement offers will come to you in your given emails and you will be able to apply in those companies if you are eligible they will contact you. Internship offers the staffs itself give all the active Internship details in the college whatsapp group it will be created once your classes begin.

The eligibilty varies it's better to no arrears during placements average package could 3.5LPA Around 60 percent is placed I got placed. IN our college there are various companies that come for placemrnt like Capegimini, hcl, wipro, airtel, Ericcson.
Good college and value for money
Placement Experience :
Around 70% of the students from this course got placed, which is kinda decent I think. The highest package went up to 21 LPA and the lowest was around 5 LPA. Some of the main companies that came for recruitment were TCS, Zoho and Wipro. For internships also, students got chances in companies like Zoho, Amazon and Wipro. Most of the roles offered were related to HR, not much technical roles from what I heard.

The faculty of this college is good there are strick and the curriculum are good and every one in the college will face 2 test before the main exam internal test one and internal test 2 are the two test and practical will be taken place a side

The fee structure in the college is high and for different course the fee is different for ELECTRONIC AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING I am paying ?90000 and for bus ? 16000 and someone in my class is paying ?125000 so not everyone is paying the same amount in the college

College providers many placement to the students if you know arrears we should we have eligible to the placement and highest packages 21 lakh per annum and the average packages 9.5 lakhs per annum the minimum package is 4 lakhs per annum
