How to survive in IIITK

- The Architecture , the college is built on a hill which is almost like a hill station with wonderful views and spots to hangout
- The curriculum , The college follows IIIT-Hyderabad curriculum which makes the college standout and attract good amount of placements
Dislikes
- Climate , being close to the sea , the climate is always humid , and you will be sweating ALOT
- Crowd , there is a good chance u will feel zoned out if you are from a city , 60% of college is telugu people and the crowd can get very annoying sometimes
Remarks :
The only entrance test for this college is jee , u could also get in by DASA , the climate of the college and the placement record, were the sole reasons on choosing this college. i had taken coaching for JEE the cutoff is usually around 97.8 percentile for this particular college
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is extremely heavy and very much updated , they follow the same curriculum as iiit hyderabad and hence it has proven to be very much helpful , the academics are the best part of any iiit , the faculties are very engaging and helpful they are quite friendly there is a system of "faculty advisor" where one faculty is assigned to 30 students and that particular faculty acts as a point of first contact to any issue
Internships Opportunities :
No, I havent opted for a internship yet , but i did get a freelance job as a appointment generator in my second month of college the college has its own placement cell with internships and placements encouraged from your third year , but u could always research using ACM IIITK and FACTSH club
Placement Experience :
Placements are very fine , many companies have visited the campus and many people have been pre-placed , the average package stands around 14LPA , and it is only going to grow because this is a IIIT the College had 100% placement record too the college forces student to publish research papers in order to build a portfolio and attract jobs
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
the tution fee costs 132000 per semester , so 264000 per year the hostel fee costs an average of 35000 per sem , so 70000 per year the mess costs an average of 32000 per sem , so 64000 per year a medical insurance of 12000 and sports/club/mess equipment fee of 800 there are no sponsorship awarded by the college but all government schemes are available all categories have the same fee
Campus Life :
Theres Adavya , a freshers fest conducted in september and then theres Apoorv which is the college's tech fest conducted during February and then there is wildbeats the cultural club of iiitk which conducts their annual fest in jan the availability of books is surplus and all the genres of books are allowed to borrow or refer the sports facilities are being developed , the main sports are football and volleyball , with indoor sports being tabletennis chess and caroms along with badminton , There is a annual fest named pradhva which is the sports meet of iiitk iiitk has a good record in inter-iiit sports there are multiple clubs such as GDSC IIITK Wildbeats (cultural) trendles (social) beta labs (programming) ELIX ( VLSI) coders club (DSA) enigma (AI) cybersec club (cybersecurity) LITSOC (literature) Chitrachaya (photography) cinivedika (FIlm) entrepunership-finance club mess committee (manages mess)
Hostel Facilities :
hostel is mandatory , u will be assigned to a hostel during admission , in your second year u can select any room u want along with your friends all hostels have 3 people per room the food quality is ok , its better than most hostels but dont expect home-taste the menu is filled with many varieties for all kinds of people

Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.

I love zoology.. I want to build my career on this subject. My faculty has phd.. She teaches well.. I could understand all concepts very easily. There are internal exams. I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty

Minimum criteria for placement is for a student with minimum arrears.Even though supply there if you have skill then you will be placed .Amal Jyothi has a better placement compared to other college and is very good
