- In bits goa we have a 0 percent attendance policy so that has been very useful
- Very good seniors who did not rag anyone they were very helpful and supportive
- Unique course with finance department being the gateway for entering finance sector
- There is no hostel curfew we can roam around the campus whenever we want
- Gap year which is very useful in case of family emergency or to do startups without dropping out
- From the coming semester we can spend 1 semester in the Hyderabad pilani or Dubai campus of bits which is very unique and helpful.
- Very active clubs and departments with very useful resources. Beautiful campus with sports and recreation facilities
Dislikes
- Hard and fast moving curriculum very many topics are covered at a high pace
- Tough relative grading compared to other bits campuses
Remarks :
The admission is through bitsat only students also join from top board exams and sat for inter-national students. I choose bits for its rich history, strong alumni network it has many unique and progressive features like it's 0 percent attendance policy and gap year for entrepreneurship .Bits goa has a strong student body which many clubs and departments with strong coding culture its very unique economics course and the finance department opens up to enter the finance world from investment bankings . The only downside is it's high fees but the merit and merut cum need scholarships help in that aspect
Course Curriculum Overview :
The first year courses are basic courses 1 each from all the departments for overall development the maths physics chemistry biology courses are 12yh grade level with few new topics discussed. There are many exams with 1 evalative every month as there is relative grading the perceived difficulty is high. I chose my economics course because from it I can choose another bacholar degree like cs from I can venture into finance and tech at the same time which is very unique.The faculty to students ratio is 1:20 we have a defected teacher for each subject for every 30 students for each subject other than the main lecturer .The best faculties have been Suresh Kumar and Suman Kundu their online lectures have been very useful and informative.There are many exams we have 7 courses each having 2 quizes 1 mid sem and 1 comprehensive exam. The faculty are all highly qualified with atleast a PhD in premiere colleges like iit or bits and even proffessers from foreign universities come teach here.
Internships Opportunities :
I am in first year so very less number of internship with stipend has been offered but I could participate in volunteer program of iron man goa and got stipend of rupees 500 there are student exchange offer and research roles offered. In the second year and fourth we have a practice school from which we have gatunteed internship in which the 4th year one is paid for exposure
Placement Experience :
The placements are very good because we have two compulsory internships called practice school to make us industry ready after the second year summer for 2 months and one semester in the 4th or 5th year placements start since 7th semester itself were most get offers in PPO thright the internships. 248 companies visited along with 631 students placed the average is 2083000 and median is 1650000. 76 percent of students got placed highest was 80lpa. I plan to get a job.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For a semester tution fee is 2,59,000 hostel fees is 27,750 mess and electricity fees is 10,000 other advances is 12,000 caution deposit is 3,000 student union fee is 450 and student aid fund is 225 there was insurance of 850 but I am not sure if it is included in other expenses so the total semester fees comes out to be 3,03,405 so yearly fees is 6,06,810 and there was an additional 57,100 admission fees. The fees was same for all categories as there is no discrimination based on caste in bits anywhere. But admission through SAT for international students has different fees. In merit based scholarship top 2 percent gets 100percent fee wavier and the next 1 percent gets 50 percent fee wavier.In merit cum need your family income must be less than 15 lakh and top 5 percent gets 100 percent fee waiver and next 2 percent gets 50 percent next 5 percent 25 percent fee wavier and next 10 percent gets 10 percent fee wavier.
Campus Life :
The fests are waves cultural fest in November quark tech fest in February and spree sports fest in March.There is a student activerty center with football cricket tennis badminton basketball volleyball smash pingpong snooker couts or grounds along with chess carrom and dance rooms.There are overy 30 different clubs and departments. We have free new movie screening as well with 6 movies per semester we had the screening of streee2 a week into its release.There are over 40000 books in a wide range and have access to priemere chemistry journals for free. Classroms have projectors with blackboard and recorded classes. In websites we host a titan drive with all the previous year papers which are very useful and dc which runs on lan for file sharing hosting a lot of things like online courses game movies series etc
Hostel Facilities :
The facilities provided in the room are Bed study table chair fan window cover blackboard almirah.There are 3 options for mess and all are good with the same menu.Hostels are fixed and cost 27,759 per semester

Course Curriculum Overview :
I choosed this course because the course covers all the aspect of commerce field . The teaching method and quality is also very good . We have smartboard in every classroom . All the professors use smartboard to teach . We have 3 isa in which 1st one is compulsorly and in 2nd and 3rd isa we get improvement chance which helps us to score better in term exam as the marks of isa are added in term exam .

At the end of the 3rd year Campus placement starts and I would like to tell that many 4-5 star hotel come to campus for placements Like TAJ , Hyatt , many airports companies Lowest package was around 2.5L annually and highest was around 6-7L per annum
Bits goa - a different experience

Placements and internships are good there are two internship seasons named as PS1 and PS2 which is based on our curriculum. During the past 2 years the placements have not been that great because of the ongoing recession. But still companies are coming with less packages and students are getting placed but frequency is less. My plan after the degree is to get some job experience and then I will try to go pursue MBA.

Great ! You can get it easily in your preferred city/country. There are many hotels which are linked to iihm so interships and placements are easily available in your preference. Good fot that reason.

Faculty are very experienced and distinguished personalities they are very knowledgeable in their fields. The course here is very tough. Scholarship is available in 2 channels 1st is merit scholarship, the 2nd is merit cum need scholarship.

On campus placements are offered every year. The highest package last year was around 60 lakh while the lowest was 8lpa. Out of all the students only one student wasn't placed which gives us almost 100% placement rate. Almost all top companies visit our college including Google, Amazon, Facebook etc.

Placements are excellent. Top companies have hired freshers from here . My branch CSE has 100% placement rate and overall all branches have 99% placement rate . Usually students are offered on campus placements so there is no need to go for off campus opportunities
