- Campus life is a significant feature of CUSAT. There are a lot of Fests and activities (both art and sports) going on in the college. It is a highly political college with both SFI and KSU strong in numbers. The campus helped me develop my personality. I used to be a shy, introverted person. But three years in this college has changed my character and gave me confidence. You meet a lot of people because it is a university from different backgrounds studying different courses. The relationships that we build in the university will be helpful in the future, as I am persuing a law degree.
- Another thing that I like about the college is the presence of a library. The library is huge and has an enormous collection of books. The research community and the Moot Court Society in the college are also functioning brightly. They are of great help to students. They teach us the basics. Where to start, how to find good moots, How to frame arguments. Etc. The teachers also help a great deal in finding internships. The teachers recommend students for internships at reputed firms.
Dislikes
- Basic infrastructure facilities like toilets, washrooms etc are lacking. For 403 students and research scholars there are only 6 toilets and are very small in numbers. This is highly inadequate. Basic facilities like projectors are aftem not working or in need of repairs. The only downside to SLS. CUSAT is its lack of finances.
- The lack of a competitive environment is another aspect that I did not like about CUSAT. Sometimes it is felt that there is no driving force that make you want to study. Most students prefer to pass every semester without any supplementary exam. However there is no peer to peer competition to secure more marks as that is often a driving force for many students
Remarks :
The CAT entrance exam is a competitive exam that must be taken to get admission to SLS, CUSAT. The number of Seats vacant is minimal, with around 65 seats for all categories. 50% would be reserved for SC/ST/OBC/EWS students. The Exam will be conducted Online with 150 questions, each containing three marks for each correct answer and -1 for incorrect answers. Questions will be asked from GK, Logical Reasoning, English and Legal reasoning. A healthy number of attempts would be more than 100 with at least 85% accuracy. To prepare for the exam, focus on the previous year's CAT and KLEE question papers. Reading Hindu newspapers daily is a must to crack the long passages. It improves reading speed and the English language.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course I chose is the BBA LLB integrated degree. Apart from this, BCom LLB is also available. It includes the study of various commerce concepts like accounting and basic economics. Students from a science background may find it challenging initially. However, later on, it can be managed well. All the permanent faculties are specialised and have a PhD degree. The teachers help resolve doubts and assist in finding good internship opportunities. The exams are on time when compared to other law government law colleges. Prompt publishing of results as well. The exams are moderately difficult and can be cracked with reasonable preparation.
Internships Opportunities :
Internships are mandatory for Law students. The faculties will be able to help you get internship opportunities at top firms. I have done my internships at DCRB, Kozhikode, MACT Kozhikode, SC/ST atrocities act court Mannarkkad and at several legal firms
Placement Experience :
Almost everyone can be placed. But the good packages are very few. Infosys is a top-notch company that has hired 3 individuals from the 2024 batch with a package of 80000 per month. Manappuram Finance also offers packages around 20000 - 25000 per month. I plan on to take an LLM degree as I prefer to become a professor
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure is Sem wise, so in a year, we pay 25000 per sem. There are 2 semesters in every year. I have currently paid approximately 2,50,000 so far as I am persuing my 5th SEM currently. For SC/ST students, the sum is significantly lower E Grants scholarships are available to SC/ST and OBC students Students with NRI quota pay 2,00,000 per Year
Campus Life :
Multiple Hostel, department, and student union festivities are conducted regularly. The CUSAT Film Festival, SARGAM(arts), Kurukshetra (Sports), and Astra (sports) are some examples. The department has a full-fledged library, one of the best in Kerala and and a good digital library with access to Manupatra and Grammarly softwares. However remote access for Manuatra is not given. Sports activities are regularly conducted at the department, inter-department and University levels. Trials for the University team are conducted, and major sports like football, cricket, chess etc, are sent to the south zone with financial backing from the university. Several clubs like the Film Club, Research Club, Moot Court Committee, MUNSOC, CULAC etc are run by the students and are of great help
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels are granted to people based on distance and reservation. They can be applied through the CUSAT website. The hostel is a bit cramped and has no extravagant rooms. However, the rent is only 400 RS per month. The Hostel Mess is student-run and top-notch, with decent food options like Biriyani, Ghee Rice, Porotta etc. It will cost around 3000 per month and is affordable. The hostel life is also worth mentioning.

I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.

I love zoology.. I want to build my career on this subject. My faculty has phd.. She teaches well.. I could understand all concepts very easily. There are internal exams. I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty
