- The infrastructure is just amazing that some of the buildings feels as modern and some of them as modern, well maintained college compound
- Well maintained college garden, air conditioned library and some laboratory, places to sit peacefully
Dislikes
- The water purifier of some buildings does not works, some of the fans in the class rooms does not works,
- There is less space in the canteen to sit and eat, some of the equipment in the fitness center has got rust.
Remarks :
Actually I didn't know very well about this course and college my friend suggested me this college and i seeked the help of those who graduated from this college. There are several of people who had been well settled after this college. In my case my course is rare course its diploma in chemical engineering, in all Kerala there are only two college with this course on is my college and the other is kalamassery poly technic college. This college is near my locality so travelling would be easy. And the major thing to choose this college is that this is one of the best polytechnic college in Kerala. It one of the oldest to. At the admission time there is no such things like interview or written test... It is all based on our 10 or plus2 marksheet. So those who have a good mark in plus 2 or 10 can easily join this college. In the admission time it may took many time to get admission. My friend was waiting from 9 am to 10 pm in the college to get in the list.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I think my course is one of the good course in diploma. It has a academic of 3years for regular students and 2 years of lateral entry students. The lateral entry students directly enters to the 2 year/3 rd semester. In first year it's almost general subject, there is only 2 core subject. From the 3 rd semester the credit subjects starts, the credits of the subject changes as per the subjects. In each sem there will be a minimum of 8 exam to write. There will be lab exam also. The lab exam are institutions level and it has credit marks. After 2 semester there will be an internship of 2 weeks and after 4 semester is the major internship it is almost 1 month, 3 weeks for the internship and 1 week for its report making. The qualification of Factuality is b-tech in that subject. Exams are not very difficult an average student can be pass the exam easily. There will be 2 internal exams and 2 assignment for each subject. The internal exam will be at a mark of 20 .
Internships Opportunities :
There are several companies for us like. TATA, Milma, ITC,WRDM, Feroke brick factory,Berger paints, Thulasi health care , bisleri, Asian paints, and several refineries mainly in ernakulam. Through this internships we will not get any money, only we get a certificate and an experience. For an internship we have to spend an amount of 10000 rupees a 5000 for the company and 5000 for our own expenses like food and accommodation. In 4 th semester there is subject for this project. It is a minor project, the topic will be about making useful social things using waste materials. And in 6 th semester there will be a major project. For those students have TATA scholarship will get the amount that we spend on the project. For the minor project it will be a group of 10 students and for the major project it will be individual. After completing the project we have to take a seminar on it.
Placement Experience :
There is placement cell in our college for the students. The placement starts after completing the 5 th semester. As per this course there are several job opportunity after completing the diploma. We can work in the petroleum gas industry, food industry, paint industry, book manufacturing industry, refineries etc. For a good placement there should be no back papers, all the papers must have been cleared. And also need a good credit score in the core subjects. The placement cell in the college gives a proper training and also a pre interview section also. The questions that can be asked, our dressing style etc will be directed through that training section. The highest salary package for our course is 4 lakhs per annum in the starting. And the average is 2 lakhs to 3 lakhs per annum. The placement of the student changes in years some times it's 50 percentage of the students get placement some time it's below 50 percent sometimes it's above 50 percentage.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
As this college is government college the fees structure is affordable for everyone. In this college the sem fee is just 965 Rs. When we take admission in this college we have to give an amount of 1000 Rs as cautioun deposit, 3000 Rs as PTA fund and star fees as 110. This is for the courses CH, CT, CE, EEE, HCT, ME. For TD it is 3500. The amount of caution deposit will be given back after completing the college. This for regular students who joining for first years. The students who joins in the second year as lateral entry they have to give more amount as caution deposit. As I am a e grantz holder I don't have to give any sem fees, my sem fees will be given by the government itself. Lab fees is took from the management fund so we don't have to give any extra amount. Those who have below 6 lakhs per annum have to give the star other wise it is not. If we have supplementary exams to write we have to admit an amount of 110 for per paper.
Campus Life :
According to my college the college programs are less compared to other colleges. But the programs are classic for sure. In an academic year firstly we celebrate the frshers day for the newly joined students. The one main program and we celebrate freshers week as some games in interval.Then it's onam celebration, we celebrate onam with chenda music tug of war and sadhya. Then we celebrate Christmas in December for that each of the department hangs star inside the college. There is standard politics in our college. For every year there would be an election would be conducted for to choose the Union by students. After that election that political party will give a nice program it is know as union day. Then this union will decide the programa to conduct. There will be sports and arts day. After winning the arts and sports the students or team will be gone to the interpoly sports meet. If we won in the interpoly we will get grace marks for the semester exam.
Hostel Facilities :
For our college there is no hostel. But in the surroundings of our college there are so much of private hostels with a rent of 5000 rs per month. The food of those hostels are just average. For our college there is good mess with food in cheap rate. There will be morning break fast, a good lunch, and several snacks in affordable rate. We get good packet food also from the store of our college. The quality of the food in our canteen is just average, some time it's below average and sometime it's above average. It depends up. In our canteen the price for the luch meal is just 30 rupees. And 50 rupees for the bhiriyaani. Almost all evening snacks are from eight rupees to 15 rupees. The morning breakfast is under 30 rupees including the tea. There are several PG s also there, it is also at the rate of five thousand per month including the current and water bills. There are several PG s and private hostels near the college at a radius of 1 kilometre.

I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.
