- The schedule for class are flexible and can be negotiable before starting of a semester and there are varieties of professional elective subjects that can be chosen based on interest. The examination and the corrections are done by the own class faculties.
- There is a big play ground, wifi huts for free times, available of cheap foods and snacks in canteen. We can do initiatives to plan and execute industrial visits accross India as many number of times you can.
- Availablity of train and bus passes at student concession.
Dislikes
- Some building will be looking like very old buildings.
- The office faculties may delay the processing of some files.
Remarks :
This college is very popular and being number one college in Tamilnadu with top ranking. It's in direct control of University departments of Anna University and an autonomous college. This college is located at the main area Chennai. The admission for is college is purely on merit from Tamilnadu board exams and cbse through TNEA councelling and there is no other test or interviews for the admission. The TNEA councelling have community reservation and sports quota. The top rank students with cutoff of 190 marks gets admission in this college through TNEA councelling.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course provided high quality education with deep understanding of the mechanical principles in detailed theoretical and practical sessions. I opted this course because I was interested in mechanical principles and the opportunities for mechanical engineer. All the faculties are very student friends and will help us in every situations. They are very professional in teaching and make the theoretical part easily understandable by the students. The course will have two assessments and an end semester exam for each semester. The assessment includes split of exam and assignment. The exams will be set by your faculty so they will be helping with the study materials.
Internships Opportunities :
20 percentage students got internships in Kinaxis, Technip Energies, Reliance, Kirloskar Engines, Agnikul etc. The average stipend for internship is 20k per month. The roles were project intern in most of the companies.
Placement Experience :
The eligibility criteria for maximum companies are no backlogs and min 7 cgpa. The placement percentage is 63 this year. The highest package offered this year is 18 lpa, lowest is 4.5 lpa and average is 7 lpa. In a year the total companies visited for mechanical engineering is 61. The top recruiting companies include Caterpillar, Hyundai, Agnikul cosmic, Reliance industries, L&T, JSW, Saint-gobain, Chevron Engines, Alstom and for IT field, Baton, Appian, Accenture and much more. Also we got international recruitment company namely Koganei Seiki in Japan. The role offered for every company in the placement is GET only. My plan after degree is getting placed in campus placement and pursuing my job.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The total maximum fees would be not more than 150000 for the four year with all inclusive. The tution fees is 15k per semester and for the first time registration that includes caution deposit is 20k one time. There are many merit scholarships that provide 40k per year and many community scholarships available that provide 15k to 50k per year and they should meet eligibility criteria. The exam fees for one subject is ?150. This is a government college so there will be no extra fees inbetween the course. The first time caution deposit will be refunded after completion of the course by fulfilling no due clearance. There is no management quota and no donations.
Campus Life :
There are two fests namely MITAFEST and SIVARANJINI conducted during odd and even semester every year. There are lots of subject books journals newspaper storybooks in central library and many project reports and subject books in every department library too. There is a smart board with big screen in every classrooms and equipped with wifi. There are many sports and conduct tournaments at regular intervals and symposiums were conducted by every department each month and the all 27 clubs do activities everyday that includes yrc, nss, ted, pda, mitra, and much more.
Hostel Facilities :
There are individual hostels for first, second, third, and final year students with a mega mess in common that have boys mess in one floor and girls mess in another floor. There is a separate compund for girls hostel and also an NRI hostel which has airconditioner refrigerator telivision in each rooms. The registration will start on or before 2 days of the start of each semester. The admission for hostel will be direct admission online not in online mode. Anyone can opt for hostel accommodation except the students who resides in 15km radius of the college campus. The food is make with high quality and quality check is conducted every time before for raw material and after the cooking. There are variety of menu including nonveg two times a week.

Placements are good like when you rech the 4th semester you will be told to register the Placement portal and you will be charged 5000 to register in that Placement portal after that people from good companies or professional Placement trainers will come and train you give you classes the classes will be there until 5th semester end. After that many Placement offers will come to you in your given emails and you will be able to apply in those companies if you are eligible they will contact you. Internship offers the staffs itself give all the active Internship details in the college whatsapp group it will be created once your classes begin.

The eligibilty varies it's better to no arrears during placements average package could 3.5LPA Around 60 percent is placed I got placed. IN our college there are various companies that come for placemrnt like Capegimini, hcl, wipro, airtel, Ericcson.

Placement Experience :
Around 70% of the students from this course got placed, which is kinda decent I think. The highest package went up to 21 LPA and the lowest was around 5 LPA. Some of the main companies that came for recruitment were TCS, Zoho and Wipro. For internships also, students got chances in companies like Zoho, Amazon and Wipro. Most of the roles offered were related to HR, not much technical roles from what I heard.

The fee structure in the college is high and for different course the fee is different for ELECTRONIC AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING I am paying ?90000 and for bus ? 16000 and someone in my class is paying ?125000 so not everyone is paying the same amount in the college
