- The campus has beautiful place to hangout. It has big library Asia's biggest library. Also cyber library with more than 800 computers. The campus has Vishwanath temple. There are many tea stalls near the departments and the hostels where student of bsc to phd meet. The campus has greenary with too many trees. There are big ground where you can play. The classrooms are well equiped.There is student health care where you get free treatment. The student from all over the country come here to study. Also you have free acess of wifi so no internet problem. The each department has its own library. The well qualified faculties are there who come from IISC, and iits and also from foreign universities(done there phd from these institutes). They are very helpful to students. Basically they teach the students how to face difficult situations in life and build a strong character.
- The campus life is at top. The main campus has more than 50 departments. The every department has well qualfied professors. There are fests held every year like aakansha, sports program every year. Also you can participate at university lavel games by giving trials without any prior certificates. The campus tea is of 6 to 10 rupees. There is no ragging in the whole university while the seniors are very helpful. There is gym in which more than 100 can perform at once and also there are 3 to 4 open gyms in the campus. There is mahila maha vidyalaya(MMV) in the main campus . The hostels are very beautiful and have placed at it best. Now the grounds have light facility. You can have bikes in the hostels.
Dislikes
- There are some professors who are rude but it's okay because that number number is very less as compared to good. The department of mathematics has not a very good building and one of the classroom is not good as required. But this can be managed.
- The hostels rooms are not too big but you can stay as they have enough space for two students. Sometimes the food provided in the mess is not good but still there are 2 to 3 mess where you can manage. You can not play in the grounds after 8 pm. Some students smoke and drink so I will suggest you to stay away from those groups.
Remarks :
The first thing is that it is very high ranked Institute in India. Comes in top 15 in all institutes in India and I in top 5 in university rankings. Also the course structute for msc mathematics give you the proper knowledge to have a great carrier in mathematics. Also the fees is very low as compared to other iits and nits. Well qualified professors are there and also they are very helpful. To get admission you have to qualify cuet pg exam in mathematics. Then you have to apply for msc mathematics on bhuonline.in website. For mathematics the cut off for UR is around 165 out of 400,for OBC 130,80 for Sc and 60 for st. And for pwd it is as low 20 to 30. Similiearly you can see for other departments. The professors are well qualifued and come form top institutes like IISC, IITS also. They are very helpful also. Some are rude but this number is very less. So all over very good teachers you will have.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is of 2 years with four semesters. Each semester is around 5 months. There is two type of exams that is mid sem and end sem. Mid sem is of 20 marks and held between the semester most likely after 2 months of start. 10 marks are given on the basis of attendence and class performance. And end semester is of 70 marks. The paper has a good level of difficulty which is required also for your future carrier. But being pass or getting marks is not hard. Just by studying 2 to 3 hours on daily basis and in end you can increase the number of hours 7 to 10 . And by solving the previous year papers for last 3 to 4years you can get more that 8cgpa.The faculties like Ashish Kumar Upadhay in department of mathematics who has his phd from IISC. And some more well knowledgable faculties like Harish Chandra, Sashikant mishra, Akhilesh yadav, Mukut mani tripathi, shaymalal yadav, Krishnendu Bhattachrya these all are the glory for department.
Internships Opportunities :
Mainly in the department there was internship program held on vedic mathematics twice in which they give certificates after completion of 2 weeks. No other interships were held in the department. Some conferences are held on the regular basis basically each month in department where any student can attend and grab the knowledge. They call professors from foreign also.
Placement Experience :
The department of mathematics now has a placement cell by there you can go in edtech companies with a package of 6 to 10 lakhs. Also after msc you can go in research as they give the knowledge of that level. You can persue PhD by qualifying csir net or gate exam in iits Or universities. There are other department like physics, chemistry, zoology, botony, geophyics where companies approach and give placements. The main aim of department is research so you can see the lack of interest in placements between student. But at my time 4 were got placement with a package of 5 to 6 lakhs. More than 10 qualified jrf and more than 20 cleared gate during msc in a batch of 120. The thing is that if you have done msc from bhu they you will surely get some good. They give the knowledge of that level.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees for 1st sem was 2800 and for second sem it was 325.For third sem it was 2200 and for fourth sem it was 825. Hence total fees for the course was around 7k. The fees was not increased over the year. Admission fees was basically the first semester fee no extra charge. There was hostel alloted to me also where fees for each semester for hostels is 2875.In first semseter you have to depsit 4875 for hostel fee in which 2000 is security money which is refunded after course completion. For the mess charges you have to pay extra around 3k per month or 50 per diet. Basically BHU does not provide any scholarship but you can apply for national scholarship scheme or you state scholarship scheme where full tution and hostel fees is refunded with extra amount. In msc I got around 20k scholarship from Up government in two years
Campus Life :
The life at campus is beautiful. The campus of Bhu is Asia's second largest campus so you can hangout a lot. There are more than 60 department. There is IITbhu in it also. There is Vishwanath temple. Also every year in January and February the fest aakansha is conducted where you can participate in programs like singing, dancing, essay writing, face of fest, poetry, quizes and many more. Also every year sports programs is conducted across all the games like cricket, kabadii, football, badminton, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, tug of war, running, high jump, long jump, discuss throw and many more. There are groups like abvp. And also snowdrop foundation in which they teach to poor students who can't afford teaching. You can hangout at the campus in night also. Hostel gates are mainly closed at 11pm.But after that also you can go outside if needed. Boys hostels are more flexible.
Hostel Facilities :
During the time of admission they ask you on website if you need hostel then fill yes in that column then you can get hostel by your score obtained in cuet pg exam on rank basis. I got the hostel in first semester and paid fees of amount 4875 in which 2000 was security money and 2875 was hostel fee which is charged every semester. But for the mess you have to pay extra 50 per diet. And also there is canteen where they have everything you need. Hostels rooms are not too big but you can stay easily that have enough space. Hostels have daily cleaing. Sometimes the quality of food is not good but good at maximum times and there are 2 to 3 mess in a hostel so you have options also. The menu is written and you can make a change by a group students. The hostel has badminton courts, tv room, carrom, table tennis court also.

Campus placements start from the 7th semester for students, once the University criteria is fulfilled. As B. Tech Biotechnology is a newly introduced course, there is no Branch wise Placement data available for B.Tech Biotechnology as of now but the university does attract companies like Nestlé, Yakult, Dabur, Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, HCLTech, and so on. The university stated the overall highest package was 60 LPA and the average placement was around 5.4 LPA. My ambition is to pursue a career in Biotechnology in R&D or QA/QC or Biopharmaceutical industry after graduation and enhance my technical knowledge.
