- The ambience. Prajyoti is covered in green. On the top of a hill - alumini call it heaven on hilltop- distant from the hustle and bustle of town, you a get a calm energy as you enter the campus.
- Quality of education. This is one thing that prajyoti never compromises. The faculty are well experienced and knowledgable and are always ready to help. It neef to be mentioned that most if not all of them are rank holders. No classes are cut in the name of strikes, which is pretty common for other colleges in Kerala.
Dislikes
- Curfew. The students have to leave campus after 6.00 unless there is some special function or work.
- Number of programs. It feels like this college organises less programs compared to other colleges.
Remarks :
Prajyoti is a well reputed college, especially for the course I chose (Psychology). This college prioritise academics and the faculties are permanent, experienced and easily approachable. The overall ambience of the campus is also a plus point. The admission was purely based on marks in plus two.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I wanted to pursue bachelor's in psychology even before I finished plus two. Prajyoti was chosen because it is well reputed for the course and my parents as well as teachers preferred here. The curriculum followed in prajyoti is of the university of calicut. It is fairly updated. This year the structure of course have changed following the four year UG program. The new curriculum is said to be advanced and up-to-date. The faculty is permanent, experienced and very knowledgable in their area. Each of them have a unique teaching style; most of them have positive review from students. The students are required to do seminars and presentations as well as community outreach programs. Exams are conducted semester wise, conducted the by university of calicut. The college conduct internal exam each semester following the pattern of the university.
Internships Opportunities :
One can do interships privately. The college doesn't provide an internship opportunity. You can take help from faculty. The teachers encourage you to do interships from the first year itself. What they mean here is a short term intership that can be done in the 2 month summer holiday. I haven't done any internship but some of my friends have.
Placement Experience :
Placements are available for all the courses except Bsc Psychology. The placement cell provides needed help and informations. Deloitte, Vipro, Piramal finance are some recruiters. The average package is of 3L per annum. The eligibility criteria is degree completion as well as an additional test conducted by each recruiter, followef by interview. I plan to further my studies, pursuing Masters degree.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee is different for each department. For Bsc psychology, it comes around 3600 per year. This includes lab fee as well. You have to pay exam fee semester wise as well, which comes around 1000 for Bsc and around 850 for BA, Bcom. There is some reduction in tuition fee for those in SC/ST category. Various scholarships and freeships are available. Additional financial aid is provided by the alumini group for the deserving students.
Campus Life :
Campus life is quite lively. Since it is a small college, with only 5 departments, everyone gets to know everyone. Major events are the onam celebration, Talent's day (a competition conducted specifically for the freshers), fine arts festival, sports day, and college day. Other than this, each department can conduct their respective fests such as psychfest and techfest. There are various clubs such as music club, art and craft club, film club,dance club, writer's forum, and each clubs conduct programs time to time. Major sport events in prajyoti are football, cycling and yoga. The library is available from 9.00am to 4.30pm, monday to friday and 9.00am to 12.30 pm on saturdays. Library has vast collection. Students can request for books through the college webpage.

Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.
