- Infrastructures of every department is really great and most of the department have their own building except for the new branches like industrial chemistry. The department buildings have all the required equipments and have all necessary lab for the department in the building itself.
- The professors here are very approachable and will answer your questions if you ask them. According to seniors you can also work with professor to do some research and make some projects if you are interested in something. Professors have done their PhD in very renowned institute and are having good experience in their field. Campus are very big and have a lot of trees so it there will be never to hot in the summer season. There is a very big library in the campus with the lord of books which you can take for free for few days. There is a canteen bank and post office in the campus. There is also a general Store from where you can buy all basic things.
Dislikes
- The classrooms are non AC and you department buildings are still incomplete like physics department and industrial chemistry department.
- In my department electrical engineering professors are very strict and you have to complete your work before attending their class. 75% attendance is also mandatory. For 1st year student the campus life is not so great because there are lot of restrictions in the college that only made for the first students.
Remarks :
Sbnt has a very big campus and situated in the middle of the big city Surat. Everything is available just few minutes around this college. Technically this is a tear one NIT and have a very great placement without any fluctuation throughout the year. To take the admission as this is an NIT you have to clear JEE mains exam and you have to choose the college in your counselling. After counselling you have to be physically present here for the physical reporting to do some paper work and after that you will be a student of this NIT. This and it is already was established in 1961 and has a very great reputation.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I am doing my bachelors of technology in electrical engineering. Like The other NIT this college also follow the same old syllabus and faculty here teach the textbook here. Talking about the faculties the faculties here have done PhD in very reputative colleges some of them have been teaching for many years and have done lot of research. Particular in Electrical engineering department most of the professors are really strict and you have to do your work before going to their classes otherwise you will be out of the class I know attendance will be accepted on that day. But at least you can approach them if you are facing any academic problems and the they will help you in that. I got to know from my senior that if you have interest you can do some research with the professors and make some projects with them.
Placement Experience :
Internship opportunities at good for the student in circle branches for core branches the scenario is not that good around 25 student got internship and total number of student seeking for internship were more than hundred. All other students tried for offline or online internship opportunities and many of them succeed in it to the data for this and number of student getting internship is not disclosed by the college so it is bit to know about the date of these. Normally Student start preparing for placement regressively in third year and company start coming in the starting of the fourth year and the placement drive happened for 9 to 10 month in different phases talking about 2023 to 2024 placements there was decrease in number of companies visiting here and also decrease in the median package due to the recession going on. But in previous year more than 150 companies visited the campus.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There have been scholarship for the specific quota group and people from poor financial background. The form will be available after taking the admission first you have to pay the fee and when you got that mission in the college then there will be a form available to take the free remission. For a person from a general background the fees for one semester is around 1.5 lakhs. And the hostel and Mess fee is around 50000 per year.
Campus Life :
For the first student there has been a lot of restrictions in the hostel and you cannot go outlet in the night. You have to take the permission of your parents and the authorities to go out of the hostel area. Talking about the infrastructures almost every department have their own respective buildings accept for the new branches like industrial chemistry. The departments are usually very big and have all the required equipments. The classes are non AC but they are plenty a fans in the classrooms. In most of the departments the student have only 65 students in one classroom. SVNIT have a lot of active and very old clubs that help you in your personal development and also help you in your passion.THERE IS A OFFICIAL PAGE ON SVNIT WEBSITE ABOUT THE CLUBS NAMED AS "STUDENT CHAPTER". Chrd club includes singing dancing painting photography drama and direction. NCC usually focus on discipline and Drishti is a technical club. They are many other clubs in SVNIT.
Hostel Facilities :
There is no single room for the first year students if you want to stay on the hostel you have to stay here with your roommates.Hotels have a lot of facilities like gym study room TV room newspaper and magazines.Wi-Fi is available but I would not say that Wi-Fi network provided by the college is not really good. Also the network in the entire campus is very poor. Network is a very big issue not only in our hostel but in our entire campus. I would not say that mess food is bad here it is definitely better then other NITs but it is not perfect as well.non veg food is not served in the college not even eggs. There is a night canteen there you can eat some non veg food if you want to. Room got cleaned two times in a week by a man assigned by the hostel. But there is no washing machine to wash your clothes and you have to wash your clothes by on your own. Laundry available but you have to pay extra money to use laundry facility.

Average CGPA should be more than 8. Packages providing will be approx 1.5-3.0 LPA. The placement is about 90%. The packages provided are good and satisfactory. After completing this bachelor's degree I would go for masters degree.

No placements are there . The aveeagw placement in the market is about 1.5 to 4.5 lakhs .As compared to the different field the packages for the freshers are very low . But the faculties based on their refrences they give the opportunity.
