- The college gives a lot of opportunities on personality development. The infrastructure is huge and calmful it is surrounded by trees and also an waterfall is available named as gec waterfalls, the faculty are kind and helpful it feels homely, the campus life is pretty good with a freedom to go anywhere.
Dislikes
- The college is situated on a hill top and the college bus is not available mostly so we have to walk 1 km downhill to the bus stand which is very irritating.
Remarks :
It is an best engineering college in Goa with better placements than other colleges in Goa the infrastructure is also huge and best these are the good aspects the bad aspect is that it is situated on a top hill and there are no regular buses to access. The only way to get admission in this college is through JEE (joint entrance exam) according to your jee percentile you get access to various branches. The cutt of is 60 percentile.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I was always interested in mechanical engineering even though I was getting other good engineering seats in this college. Faculties are well qualified and most of them have done PhD in the respective course. The teaching is also good with good attention. The term exams were on time with regular internal test conducted every month before the term exams . The difficulty of the term exams are moderate the questions asked are applicative.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The academic year 2024-25, Semester 1 fee totals 50,800, which includes 38,000 for tuition, 9,000 for development, 1,800 for admission, 750 each for library and caution deposits, and smaller amounts for magazine, gymkhana, insurance, social gathering, identity card, and student aid fees. The Nov-Dec 2024 examination registration fee is 5,185, covering course registration for subjects along with their respective lab components.Semester 2 fee at Goa College of Engineering is 47,700, which includes 38,000 for tuition, 9,000 for development, 600 for bus fare, and 100 for gymkhana fees.Rest 11,000 to be paid as exam registration fees covering course registration for subjects along with their respective lab components for the general category.for school categories it is 35,000 and for st 27,000.
Campus Life :
In February the most famous event conducted is happenings or tandav. Each department also conduct their own events like mechanical engineering department conducts event called torque. The library in our college is vast with a lot of varieties of books and journals. Book banks are also provided to the students. Sports like football, badminton etc are conducted mostly tournaments between the faculty and students are also conducted in sports . Extracurricular activities like dance,singing,festive compititions between the departments are also done. Clubs like quizz club,drama club astronomy club , coding club and more that are run by the students I m not aware of any social clubs or websites that are run by the students.
Hostel Facilities :
The food quality in the mess is not good but the menu is quite vast . The infrastructure of hostel is good with free wifi and geyser The registration process is quite simple u have to fill an application form for hostel along with your passport size photo. Hostel fees are 7,500 for each semester (food excluded), and with mess charge it is 13,500. The locality near Goa College of Engineering (GEC) in Farmagudi, Ponda is commonly referred to as Farmagudi itself. If you rented a room or PG, it would typically be in areas like Farmagudi, Ponda, Bandora, or Curti, which are close to the college.

Course Curriculum Overview :
I choosed this course because the course covers all the aspect of commerce field . The teaching method and quality is also very good . We have smartboard in every classroom . All the professors use smartboard to teach . We have 3 isa in which 1st one is compulsorly and in 2nd and 3rd isa we get improvement chance which helps us to score better in term exam as the marks of isa are added in term exam .

At the end of the 3rd year Campus placement starts and I would like to tell that many 4-5 star hotel come to campus for placements Like TAJ , Hyatt , many airports companies Lowest package was around 2.5L annually and highest was around 6-7L per annum

Placements and internships are good there are two internship seasons named as PS1 and PS2 which is based on our curriculum. During the past 2 years the placements have not been that great because of the ongoing recession. But still companies are coming with less packages and students are getting placed but frequency is less. My plan after the degree is to get some job experience and then I will try to go pursue MBA.

Great ! You can get it easily in your preferred city/country. There are many hotels which are linked to iihm so interships and placements are easily available in your preference. Good fot that reason.

Faculty are very experienced and distinguished personalities they are very knowledgeable in their fields. The course here is very tough. Scholarship is available in 2 channels 1st is merit scholarship, the 2nd is merit cum need scholarship.

On campus placements are offered every year. The highest package last year was around 60 lakh while the lowest was 8lpa. Out of all the students only one student wasn't placed which gives us almost 100% placement rate. Almost all top companies visit our college including Google, Amazon, Facebook etc.
