- The infrastructure is good as compared many nits and i think the best infra in IIITs so the institute gets a point here obviously. The faculty is okayish as i already said it earlier.
- The academics are good here ,they stick to their basics and dont go off the rail as many top tier colleges still follow indus valley civilization curriculum.
Dislikes
- The worst aspect is the campus life , if campus life is a solid consideration for you , donot opt this college you will be heavily disappointed.
- The food here is an absolute shit ,the mess is compulsory as per the college guidelines and also the college is situated somewhere far from central city so no alternatives for mess.So you need to struggle for good for now and then.
Remarks :
The institute has strong CS and IT related programs with experienced professors and research opportunities.IIIT allahabad is known for outstanding coding culture,with students excelling in competitive programming and participating in global contests like ICPC.The most highlighted aspect of the institute- THE PLACEMENTS and trust me they offer great packages in which MAANG companies are also included,almost all of them. Coming up to the downsides- first things first the college environment is dead , absolutely zero college life compared to any top tier nit or IIT. Next the weather here is extreme here at both ends. The ECE branch here is bit less considered by the companies although they have an equal tough curriculum in comparison to IT branch. And last but never the least-the FOOD.. disastrous,worst thing to ever remember about this college is the mess food its just garbage. Coming to the cuttoff that let me here in is 99.48 as a general male.. for ECE..that i go through spot round.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I think its easily one of the top 5 colleges in India,one should definitely consider IIIT Allahabad if wanna get some good packages and research in IT sector also. My personal story of opting this course is not that simple since i had a strong will to choose this course only for the placement factor and for the rest I ignored , and yes i am suffering for that. Faculty here are very well experienced and most of them are strict but good at their work and yes there profs everywhere who carry a galaxy lf knowledge but fails often in delivering that to the students and IIIT Allahabad also have some lf those..so overall jot so great but not bad either. Exams are not very much tough if we start studying from day 1 but yes as an engineering student everyone will agree that it is just the exam day we get the max interest in that particular subject or course so this topic is subjective as always. And exams are not so often but quizzes are bit often. MAJOR exams are just mid sen and end sem.
Internships Opportunities :
No ,since i am a btech 1st year so no scope for internship. But known the information many of the seniors here got interships upto 1lakh per month stipend and the highest was 2 lakh per month. This year approx 90 students got interships from college interviews.
Placement Experience :
The placement and internships opportunities are too good here. But yeah the college will itself come into action in the third year no earlier so before that pne needs to deal himself with the internship department. But for girls the internship mails are often and for boys sometimes. This year i think the highest package went around 80lpa since the official numbers are not out yet. Approx 90% gets placed even in recession.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
for 1st sem-148000rs For 2nd sem-124700rs And for every semester it increases here onwards The mess+hostel fees for boys is-24300rs According to me its bit high but it is what it is. Category student often get scholarships so they can go with it and general male never get any scholarship offer. There is no management quota in this college , you can get seat only through JEE mains
Campus Life :
Actually the worst aspect of this college is campus life, the 100 acre campus on ground just feels like 50 acre and consists of only one playground which is dominantly a cricket ground but built for football ,and the rest the sport facilities are so shit that the college doesn't have an indoor badminton court atleast and for indoor games they have sufficient amenities as per the crowd so if one is much interested in sports should not join this college according to me. The first and the only fest i attended here was EFFERVESCENCE 2024 which was too good as new comer's perspective and to the extinct i heard that this was the best fest ever happened in IIIT Allahabad so i dont have a very good idea about the fest but college do conduct several fests all over the year to keep the essence of college life alive.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel infrastructure is good for the first years but later on it deteriorates as we change the hostels further but not exponentially its just small differences.The hostels consist of badminton courts which are the only badminton courts in the entire college campus that too outdoor. The mess food is too bad and i mean it literally,its very bad no one can eat it as days go on it becomes even worse expect for the starting few days of the new session, so you understand what is your priority and yes the mess is a compulsory as per the college guidelines.

The course curriculum is well structured and covers both theoretical and practical knowledge which helps to build a strong foundation for a subject like biomedical. I always had interest in human health and diseases which is why I chose this course. Faculties are always willing to clear doubts as they are well qualified in there particular domain. And overall I feel the course provides a good academic environment for students. there is a academic calendar provided which gets updated time to time and exam are conducted according to this calendar only.

Campus placements start from the 7th semester for students, once the University criteria is fulfilled. As B. Tech Biotechnology is a newly introduced course, there is no Branch wise Placement data available for B.Tech Biotechnology as of now but the university does attract companies like Nestlé, Yakult, Dabur, Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, HCLTech, and so on. The university stated the overall highest package was 60 LPA and the average placement was around 5.4 LPA. My ambition is to pursue a career in Biotechnology in R&D or QA/QC or Biopharmaceutical industry after graduation and enhance my technical knowledge.
