The main reason to chose this college when I was preparing for the KEAM exam to get admission into GEC Thrissur was their NIRF ranking, which was 174 in 2020, if I am right and the placements were also satisfactory. To get admitted to GEC Thrissur all you have to do is appear on an exam Called KEAM, which is specifically for engineering degrees. Based on your ranking you are allotted to the college of your choice.
I chose this course because of my strong interest in chemistry. It offers a unique experience compared to other engineering degrees. The faculty members were well qualified, most holding Ph.D.s from reputed colleges. The core subjects are usually tougher than non-core subjects. 2 to 5 days of studying time can help you pass the exam.
I have done 2 internships while pursuing my B Tech degree. The first internship was at TTPL for 5 days and the second internship was at BPCL Kochi for 2 weeks. For both of the internships, I was asked to pay the company some amount of money. The main objective of the internship was to see the plant and study the process taking place inside the plant. The college won't be taking any initiative to make you do internships, it is on your account to find and apply for internships at the company of your choice.
College placement was not bad, around 30% of students were placed in various companies through campus placement. The eligibility criteria vary for different companies. Zud-Chemie, L&T, and MRF are a few visited recruiters. Salary packages can vary with companies, with the highest package of around 8 Lack CTC to the lowest of around 2.5 Lakh CTC. I am planning to do a master's degree program.
The only fees we are supposed to give are for the examination fees, rather than that no fees are asked from us in terms of studying. For PTA an amount of 7000 was submitted at the PTA office, which is non-refundable. For the general category fees for each semester will be around 7500. For SC/ST students no amount of fees need to be submitted. Also for students obtaining e-grantz or MCM scholarships, the fees must be submitted but will be refunded. For e-grantz students, the amount of fees will also be less.
Campus life was satisfactory. Every year a national level multi fest called by the name Dyuthi is conducted by the college union. The library is well equipped with most of the books under your curriculum subjects available there. The students with scholarships or the SC/ST students will have access to the extra book section. Cricket and football clubs are active, but college athletics was only conducted once in our campus life. All the clubs in the GEC Thrissur are run by students, some of the clubs are Astral Club, Tunker Hub, IEDC, Oasis, etc.
I was provided with the college hostel, which was convenient, with each room containing two students. College mess was also available with it. Mess food was also good. Hostel registration is done through the college website. Hostel fees would only range from 2000-3000. If you're an SC/ST student or someone with an e-grantz scholarship hostel fees need not have to be submitted.
The eligibility according to our teachers is that we have to get the 7.5 above CGPA and the number of companies that have visited and recruited are TCS Wipro et cetera and the highest package will be to 7 and lowest will be 2 lakh my plan after the degrees that I will opt for higher studies and specialised in some specific course like Java and will look for the companies like that
college provide best on their placements , as a part of making college to be best at the era . principal told to our batch that they will provide 50% of placements , i am glad to be in this batch because sometimes i may get a college placement to make an expirence for the future jobs
I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.
I choose this course because i have a strong interest in history and understanding past events, and culture and their impact on the present.the course curriculam is well structured and covers both core elective subjects, giving a balanced understanding of historical concepts.
There are few placement opportunities like infosys but we can't opt for high salary paying jobs.I am planning to complete mtech after graduating btech. There are many students with jobs from college selection but I don't like many jobs from college as per their salary
The faculity is generally experienced and supportive most students are satisfied. With the teaching clinical exposure. Facilities are friendly with the students. Regularly conducts class test and model exam to help students prepare for their studies and university examination. Faculties are high qualified and experienced
Most of the faculties are bds or mds graduated and well knowledged. Classes are mainly powerpoint presentation based and seminars. There are 2 internals and one model examination based on which qualification for university exam is determined.
I love zoology.. I want to build my career on this subject. My faculty has phd.. She teaches well.. I could understand all concepts very easily. There are internal exams. I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty
As I'm a first year student I've not got information about the placement but there are so many placement options from South Indian Bank, icici bank and also from companies like deliotte etc The college has connection with many international companies too.
Minimum criteria for placement is for a student with minimum arrears.Even though supply there if you have skill then you will be placed .Amal Jyothi has a better placement compared to other college and is very good
