Pros & Cons of a Old College
Likes
- The new building is quite good .. (still not fully functional)
- The lecture halls are good and cultural events like navratri ,diwali ,holi ,Dusshera , ganesh chaturthi are all well celebrated
- The practical knowledge of attending various types of patients due to a large OPD and big hospital.
Dislikes
- Half of the college infrastructure is not very good condition. The lifts are usually are not running
- There is a constant drinking water problem in the college premises.
- The UG boys hostel is not in very good condition.
Remarks :
The college is the oldest and one of the best in the vindhya region . The practical exposure is very much due to the vast OPD and 1750 bed hospital. The process for admission is a councelling round where my details were verified and some medical tests were done.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose MBBS due to my passion of becoming a doctor . The faculties of the college are good and experienced. Most of them are doctors working with the associated government hospital. Exam timing and dates are all decided by MPMSU university. Most of the time the dates are predecided from the beginning but sometimes gets postponed due to unknowing reasons.
Internships Opportunities :
Internship of 1 year in the associated hospital (SGMH, Rewa) is offered after final year and it is compulsory for all students to attend. It is a major part of our curriculum. In internship a stipend of 13,800 is provided to each student per month. The internship occurs in the clinical departments for the practical exposure and knowledge.
Placement Experience :
There are no campus placements in case of mbbs . Yet some some JRships are offered to studying students after the course completion. Most of the people hope to pursue PG after completing UG so they instead take a drop year. PG ranks from our college students and very good . Most of the students get their dream branches like medicine, surgery, obs-gyane,oeaditrics , radiology,etc Some students also prefer not to goo for PG and instead serve a rural bond as a Medical officer in nearby rural hospitals.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tution fees - 1,00,000 Hostel fees - 12,000 Sports fees - 120 University fees -3,000 Library fees -2,000 Total fees - 1,17,120 (This fees is for 1 year only) There are total of 4.5 years in the curriculum. There are some scholarships available for the native state students like Medhavi Scholarship (for thoose with with 90% or above in state boards) ,post metric scholarship (for category students) ,etc
Campus Life :
Campus Life is not very good . In reality there is no such thing as a campus . As the college is 60 years old so most of the areas have weird off. The library is vast and all books are available but as there are 150 students in a class so sometimes books are available for issuing for studying in hostel. For sports there is badminton ground ,gym and a newly developed TT room . A cricket ground is also available for college during the fest . Football also takes place sometimes in the ground of nearby doctors' colony. There are no social groups or clubs . The city and faculties has a very conservative thinking not allowing any such activities????.
Hostel Facilities :
There are separate hostels for UGs and PGs and boys and girls. The hostel is for UG boys is in not very good condition because it is 60 years old so most of the people prefer to live out in PGs and private rooms. There is no sanitation and no good mess. The UG girls hostel on the other hand is quite good and safe with all the facilities like mess ,lift ,water cooler ,etc. The PG hostels are quite good and new with single rooms for each student. They have much more facilities.

This course was the amazing combination of art and medical science you need to be perfect in both the things. Most amazing and adventurous field ever . Placement and job opportunity is good in this college around 60% placed before start of 7th semester and 90% placed till end of 8th semester. Various company like Amazon , tcs , infosys , etc visit the campus. Highest package till now is 44 lpa and average is 6.5 lpa
Life at School Of Commerce, Devi Ahilya University
Placement Experience :
The placement is quite quite good as year on years recently the placement was goes 57LPA to 75LPA and teh avg was 7-8LPA and median is 10LPA something. The college have 100% placement record every year and they also give grants and loans for students who wants to startup. But the internship support is zero like college are only focused on placement they are not foucing on internship.

I would like to say there are more job openings and internship programmes we had than a private college for both Graduates and Masters students. job openings in TCS/ banks and industries too. The thing is you need to put effort to grab a good opportunity. attain placements opening whenever you got notification from college groups. be prepared. ask your teacher to clear more doubts. However, I am the one who already had a job so I did not take from there because I was working in tech mahindra and its work from home in my favourate feild.

There's a good amount of placement opportunities but the only minus point is the Training and placement department is same for the other branches of this college such as Lakshmi Naraine college of Technology and science bhopal

If you are focused on your studies you can get really good opportunities here as companies like accenture,TCS, Wipro and Tata Mahindra come here every year and many more companies too. The college provides training and placement classes from 2nd year onwards.

MBBS is concerned there is no issue with placement. As none of the doctors are jobless. And obviously placements are good one can work in well esteemed organization after just MBBS but more people prefer to opt PG course.
