Is College of Engineering Trivandrum worth it
Likes
- The infrastructure is really good here. There are many labs and cafeteria is very spacious
- The campus life might be one of the best in kerala.
Dislikes
- I quite dislike the faculty. I wish they could be more friendly with the students.
- The curriculum is very hectic and I find it hard to keep up.
Remarks :
The examination for entry is Nata and the score of this is added with ur plus 2 exam score and uploaded in the KEAM website for admission. Ranks are published and the admission is through these ranks.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is really hectic and without enough passion it will be hard to learn this course as it is very demanding. The faculty is mid.. the assignments are always piled up towards the end of the semester in case of design subject. They are not exactly close to the students and maintains a very "professional" relationship
Internships Opportunities :
As of now I have not opted for any internships but in our 4th year the curriculum requires us to do a 6 month internship program. This is based on individual performance and we get into firms for internship after they review our portfolio.
Placement Experience :
Placement and internship opportunities are very much avilable. There is seperate office to assist students with placements. And many do get placed to several firms. Placements starts at 3rd year of the course.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The yearly tuition fees is 8250 and as the course is 5 years long it costs 43250 in total. But their are scholorships available for students with reservation and private scholorships can also be applied. Some students have got 1.5 lakhs as schorlorship from a private company and in addition to this they can apply for one government scholarship also.
Campus Life :
The campus life is really great for social people as it has different programs and activities many times especially during the even semester. Sports is really active especially team events like handball, volleyball etc. Anyone is welcome for sports as there are proper training that will let you start from scratch. There are various club activities too. But it can be said that the course does not allow for such an active campus life.
Hostel Facilities :
I am currently staying outside college but I have heard that the college hostel is pretty good. The food is better than ours which we buy from a catering service. They provide non veg food almost every day of the week and is quite good. The hostel admission is based on allotment process.

The eligibility according to our teachers is that we have to get the 7.5 above CGPA and the number of companies that have visited and recruited are TCS Wipro et cetera and the highest package will be to 7 and lowest will be 2 lakh my plan after the degrees that I will opt for higher studies and specialised in some specific course like Java and will look for the companies like that

college provide best on their placements , as a part of making college to be best at the era . principal told to our batch that they will provide 50% of placements , i am glad to be in this batch because sometimes i may get a college placement to make an expirence for the future jobs

Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.

I choose this course because i have a strong interest in history and understanding past events,and culture and their impact on the present.the course curriculam is well structured and covers both core elective subjects,giving a balanced understanding of historical concepts.

There are few placement opportunities like infosys but we can't opt for high salary paying jobs.I am planning to complete mtech after graduating btech.There are many students with jobs from college selection but I don't like many jobs from college as per their salary

Most of the faculties are bds or mds graduated and well knowledged. Classes are mainly powerpoint presentation based and seminars. There are 2 internals and one model examination based on which qualification for university exam is determined.

I love zoology.. I want to build my career on this subject. My faculty has phd.. She teaches well.. I could understand all concepts very easily. There are internal exams. I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty
