- i really like the campus environment as its huge and the sarovar areas is honestly my favorite place in here.
- i really appreciate the decent and well maintained labs in my department
Dislikes
- it gets very difficult to attend lectures in the scorching heat when there is no AC working in the classes and the fans are placed in very odd places.
- the early hostel curfew for the girls could be changed if they start providing a safe campus environment
Remarks :
i chose this college because the course fit me well and the admission was merit based with no such GD, interview or written test. the process was simple as i just had to fill the form, wait for the merit list, submit documents and pay the fee. the good parts are the big campus, decent labs and teachers are also pretty helpful. the downsides are that the campus isnt very safe when it gets dark, the ACs in classrooms dont work, admin work is painfully slow and the mess food is hit or miss. since my course didnt have any admission rounds so i didnt have to prepare for anything, my 12th grades were enough.
Course Curriculum Overview :
i picked bsc. hons. biotechnology because it felt like the most sensible next step after studying PCB for 2 years in school. i wasnt really into medicine so choosing something completely unrelated would've just wasted all that effort. this course sits in that sweet spot where i get to build on what i already know without forcing myself into some new field. most teachers are well qualified but the teaching quality really depends on who you get. some explain things clearly board work while some just run through ppts. our term exams are the same as any other uni, the midsem and endsem exams along with practicals and other internal assessments.
Placement Experience :
placements for biotech honestly arent great here. big companies dont visit this university for this one needs to look for something off campus. most students either plan for higher studies or prepare for exams. even i am more focused on building my profile because campus placements alone wont take you far in here.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
for my batch, the fee per year comes out to around 60k and honestly the number slightly changes every few years with extra charges adjusted here and there. i pay 60k every year as the academic fee and 45k for the hostel fee. the mess charges are separate and is 40k for the year. 7k are for some miscellaneous things which i can't recall and the exam fee is also separate so it obviously piles up. altogether the amount touches 1.52LPA. im not completely sure about the exact fee for reserved or ews candidates but they do get a good relaxation in the fee. the UP govt provides some scholarship that comes out every year and students with UP domicile get free tablets under the same. my admission was purely merit based.
Campus Life :
campus life is decent but not very happening. there a few clubs like the debate and cultural clubs but only some of them are actually active. our main fest Abhivyanjana usually happens around november and it's one of the few times when campus feels lively. classrooms are spacious but the ACs dont work even though they are advertised. the library works just fine with a good collection a huge seating arrangement. students also run some informal whatsapp groups for notes or any updates.
Hostel Facilities :
i stay in the hostel and the rooms are decent for the price. you get a bed, almirah, study table, a wall embedded bookself and a small balcony. the wifi barely works except on the gund floor where it is installed but every room has a LAN port so its manageable. the mess food is edible mostly. the hostel registration process was through the online portal which crashed every now and then. its affordable compared to PGs outside. boys and girls have separate hostels and girls have stricter timings.

They were no campus place name because I opted for humanity degree and humanities degree comes with no direct placement after UG and it acquires greater and highest studies so right now I am doing my post graduation and the emploibility is very low

The course curriculum is well structured and covers both theoretical and practical knowledge which helps to build a strong foundation for a subject like biomedical. I always had interest in human health and diseases which is why I chose this course. Faculties are always willing to clear doubts as they are well qualified in there particular domain. And overall I feel the course provides a good academic environment for students. there is a academic calendar provided which gets updated time to time and exam are conducted according to this calendar only.

Campus placements start from the 7th semester for students, once the University criteria is fulfilled. As B. Tech Biotechnology is a newly introduced course, there is no Branch wise Placement data available for B.Tech Biotechnology as of now but the university does attract companies like Nestlé, Yakult, Dabur, Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, HCLTech, and so on. The university stated the overall highest package was 60 LPA and the average placement was around 5.4 LPA. My ambition is to pursue a career in Biotechnology in R&D or QA/QC or Biopharmaceutical industry after graduation and enhance my technical knowledge.
