Remarks :

My decision to join St. Albert's College, Ernakulam was influenced by positive experiences shared by elders who studied there. Initially, I aimed to attend St. Albert's Higher Secondary School but ended up elsewhere due to proximity. The admission process, unique for an Autonomous college, involved separate applications for Management and General quotas. Applicants were allocated points based on academic performance, with seats filled through three main allotments and supplementary rounds if needed. I secured admission during the first supplementary allotment, marking a significant milestone in my journey at St. Albert's.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I opted for BSc Mathematics at St. Albert's College due to a long-standing desire to study there. Despite initial setbacks in the admission process, I secured a seat in Mathematics during the first supplementary allotment. The faculty, predominantly young and female, were both friendly and academically rigorous, particularly commendable during the transition to online learning amidst the pandemic. Exams were conducted promptly with moderate difficulty, often drawing from previous years' question papers. Notably, there were no fee hikes, with third-year fees even lower than the first year's. Additionally, the availability of pre-matric scholarships provided valuable support to students annually.

Internships Opportunities :

During my time at St. Albert's College, I found that internships were not mandatory for the BSc Mathematics course. However, it's important to note that while internships were not a requirement for my specific program, there were other courses within the college where internships were mandatory for each academic year. Despite not being compulsory for my course, many students in other programs found internships to be invaluable experiences for gaining practical skills and industry exposure.

Placement Experience :

Placement opportunities at St. Albert's College, especially in my department, were extremely limited during my time. Only one company visited our department, and eligibility criteria were strict, requiring no backlogs. Unfortunately, placements were disappointing, with very few, if any, students securing job offers. This was a common sentiment among my peers, with minimal success stories in terms of placements. While other departments may have had slightly better prospects, overall, placements were considered one of the weakest aspects during my tenure at the college.

Campus Life :

Life at St. Albert's College campus is vibrant with regular cultural programs every Friday, celebrating festivals like Onam and Christmas, along with annual day festivities. Freshers and send-off days add to the lively atmosphere. Our two-story library offers an extensive collection of books, while department-wise sports events, including cricket and football tournaments, enhance the college experience. Social media platforms, particularly Instagram, are abuzz with college-related content, from memes to confession pages where students anonymously share experiences. Being from Kochi, I didn't require access to hostel or PG facilities, but for those who did, the college provided comfortable living arrangements with essential amenities.

Sct review

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.
