Remarks :
HIMT is one of the best maritime institutes in India having an A1 Outstanding Grade from DG Shipping. It is affiliated with Indian Maritime University. He has a handsome placement rate with 100% placement opportunities. It is located in Kalpakkam which is around 60km from Chennai city. The admission process includes securing 60% PCM in 12th grade which enables one to attend the IMUCET examination. Qualifying in IMUCET is mandatory to get admission into college. IMU CET examination is based on a 12th-grade syllabus including Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and English. It also includes Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. For the same study materials will be available on the internet including sample question papers.
Course Curriculum Overview :
After covid pandemic, the marine industry has a significant decrease in employees which opened enormous job opportunities and employee requirements with high paid salary. As compared to other degrees BSc.Nautical Science is an interesting degree with a more job-oriented syllabus. All the faculties working here have sealife experience of more than 20 years including Captains and Chief Engineers. The way of teaching allows us to understand into core of the topic by teaching from their onboard experience. As this degree is a 3-year course, it is divided into 6 semesters with 6 term exams including practicals and other internal exams. The exams are of average level difficulty which we can crack with some hard work. The total fee is about 975000/- which will be paid per semester. The scholarship will be provided based on academic performance with an aggregate of 95% or more.
Placement Experience :
Eligibility criteria for placement include nothing but an academic semester with no backlogs with a good aggregate. Big companies like Mol, Molta, Eastaway, Marshall, Sanmar, Chellaram, etc are some of the recruiters of HIMT. Each company will come once a year.
Campus Life :
Every Indian festival are being celebrated in the college on the same day. Naughtica the largest event in India for Maritime training is conducted every year where numerous huge companies and big industry personalities will be present enabling a big exposure for cadets participating.Our college conducts 'Technovision' where different colleges from all over India participate. The college has a library where we can find all the prominent books in the maritime industry. Each semester our college hosts different cultural and sports tournaments. We have official Instagram YouTube and other social media networks that help to know more about the college and on HIMT college YouTube channel is available with many study materials of experienced masters and chief engineers. As a residential course, it is compulsory to stay in the college hostel. The hostel rooms are well-furnished rooms with attached washrooms. The food includes a wide variety of north and south Indian foods.

Placements are good like when you rech the 4th semester you will be told to register the Placement portal and you will be charged 5000 to register in that Placement portal after that people from good companies or professional Placement trainers will come and train you give you classes the classes will be there until 5th semester end. After that many Placement offers will come to you in your given emails and you will be able to apply in those companies if you are eligible they will contact you. Internship offers the staffs itself give all the active Internship details in the college whatsapp group it will be created once your classes begin.

Placement Experience :
The eligibilty varies it's better to no arrears during placements average package could 3.5LPA Around 60 percent is placed I got placed. IN our college there are various companies that come for placemrnt like Capegimini, hcl, wipro, airtel, Ericcson.
Good college and value for money
Placement Experience :
Around 70% of the students from this course got placed, which is kinda decent I think. The highest package went up to 21 LPA and the lowest was around 5 LPA. Some of the main companies that came for recruitment were TCS, Zoho and Wipro. For internships also, students got chances in companies like Zoho, Amazon and Wipro. Most of the roles offered were related to HR, not much technical roles from what I heard.

The faculty of this college is good there are strick and the curriculum are good and every one in the college will face 2 test before the main exam internal test one and internal test 2 are the two test and practical will be taken place a side
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure in the college is high and for different course the fee is different for ELECTRONIC AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING I am paying ?90000 and for bus ? 16000 and someone in my class is paying ?125000 so not everyone is paying the same amount in the college
