- The infrastructure and workshop facilities are top quality. The ship-in-campus built inside the campus is great.
- The faculties and workshop instructors are all highly experienced and knowledgeable.
Dislikes
- The campus life can sometimes be very hectic with exams, watchkeeping duty, workshops, and other chores etc
- The galley food can sometimes taste boring and monotonous.
Remarks :
When I checked the academic brochure of Indian Maritime University for the year I was admitted i.e. 2019, this college was in the A grade with IMU affiliation. Later when I checked their website, I liked the infrastructure and facilities inside the campus. The placement record was also very good that year and some of my friends also confirmed that it was a good institute for maritime training.
Course Curriculum Overview :
B.Tech(ME) is a four year engineering degree course. Every year there will be two semesters therefore a total of 8 semesters in 4 years, however in 8th semester there are no theory exam papers. Each semester the college takes 2 cycle tests of 20 marks which are added to the internal marks. The internal question papers and all the teachings are always according to the curriculum. There is normally no fee hike policy and each semester the fees are 150000/- plus 25000/- IMU fees for each year. Cadets also have to pay for semester exam registration according to the IMU fees. All the faculties and workshop instructors are highly experienced and prepare the cadets excellently.
Placement Experience :
The placement records are pretty good every year such as 80%. The year I passed out which is 2023, the placement record for our batch was 100%. A lot of shipping companies like MOLTA, MOLMI, Fleet Management, Pacific International Lines, Maersk, Eastaway, VR Maritime, d'Amico, etc etc come to the college for campus placements.
Campus Life :
Every year the college organizes a fest where other colleges also participate. Other than that most of the major holidays are celebrated inside the campus. The college also participates in other fests like Naughtica and also has a good winning record. There is a moderately big library where all kinds of books such as textbooks to reference books to magazines are available. There are gym, swimming pool, table tennis court and also a big playground with a goalpost and cricket pitch. There are several committees managed by cadets like Sports, magazines and library, Galley, Safety, Infrastructure, External affairs, etc, etc. The food quality in the galley is average and on special occasions sometimes some special items are also made. It is a residential course so you have to stay inside the campus in the hostel where the rooms are pretty decent. Each room is for 4 cadets with 2 bunker beds, two basins, a study table big enough for 2 people, 4 cupboards, and two separate rooms for shower and lavatory

Placements are given in high reputed companies, even companies like Microsoft, IOS, intel are also collaborated with the college. And for animation they provide placement in" Toonz Animation, Techno park, Thiruvananthapuram.

Not bad placement trainings and good faculty members to train for placements . Good companies with good packages come for placement drives who select the best of all and give placements for them. Good placements.

Placement Experience :
Placements are good like when you rech the 4th semester you will be told to register the Placement portal and you will be charged 5000 to register in that Placement portal after that people from good companies or professional Placement trainers will come and train you give you classes the classes will be there until 5th semester end. After that many Placement offers will come to you in your given emails and you will be able to apply in those companies if you are eligible they will contact you. Internship offers the staffs itself give all the active Internship details in the college whatsapp group it will be created once your classes begin.

Placement Experience :
The eligibilty varies it's better to no arrears during placements average package could 3.5LPA Around 60 percent is placed I got placed. IN our college there are various companies that come for placemrnt like Capegimini, hcl, wipro, airtel, Ericcson.
Good college and value for money
Placement Experience :
Around 70% of the students from this course got placed, which is kinda decent I think. The highest package went up to 21 LPA and the lowest was around 5 LPA. Some of the main companies that came for recruitment were TCS, Zoho and Wipro. For internships also, students got chances in companies like Zoho, Amazon and Wipro. Most of the roles offered were related to HR, not much technical roles from what I heard.

The faculty of this college is good there are strick and the curriculum are good and every one in the college will face 2 test before the main exam internal test one and internal test 2 are the two test and practical will be taken place a side
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure in the college is high and for different course the fee is different for ELECTRONIC AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING I am paying ?90000 and for bus ? 16000 and someone in my class is paying ?125000 so not everyone is paying the same amount in the college
