My experience in Vimala College Autonomous, Thrissur

- Clean campus, good faculties, good facilities
- Academic support from teachers are great.
Dislikes
- Small campus, a little strict, you can't go outside without HOD's permission letter and a pass from office.
- Some faculties does not encourage extracurricular activities and they insist a little bit to stay in class itself. But we can run away from class without them seeing us.
Remarks :
There was no interview or group discussion to take admission to Vimala College Autonomous, Thrissur. Apply to the course with your plus two marks on their site. There are reservation seats. The cut-off for BSc Mathematics was 85 per cent. I was admitted to Vimala College Autonomous, Thrissur for BSc Mathematics because it is good for academics and it is autonomous. Autonomous colleges conduct exams at the correct time. Also, the results are published within 3 weeks. The faculties there are good and almost everyone owns a PhD there. In the field of arts and sports, Vimala College is good. They give the students opportunities to show their talent and many teachers are there to support you. But don't think everyone is that much supportive towards extracurricular activities. Some teachers give importance to academics only and they won't support you for extracurricular activities. But if you are interested in that, just go for it along with your studies. Vimala is a clean campus but not that big.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Vimala College follows the course curriculum of Calicut University itself. The Mathematics department has good quality faculties and they provide study materials and notes. They finish the portions at the correct time and conduct exams without any lag. The difficulty level of the examination is medium. They charge semester fees of nearly 7000 rupees and additional charges for exams, PTA funds and other programmes. Based on the student's family income they are provided with E-Grance scholarships and caste-related scholarships.
Internships Opportunities :
With the help of college, many students could do internships at IIT Palakkad. It was related to artificial intelligence and computer programming. It was very useful and the certificate has a great value.
Placement Experience :
About 45% per cent of students got placements this year in BSc Mathematics in companies like TCS, Accenture, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance and Goan Institute International Consociation of education (GICE). The highest package is offered by Accenture, which is 3.44 LPA. TCS offers 3.33 LPA and ICICI offers 2.85 LPA. The only criteria for applying for placements is that you don't have a supply at the time of applying for a placement. At least you have to clear it before their interview. Otherwise can't attend that.
Campus Life :
Vimala College celebrates Onam, Christmas, Holi, Ethnic Day, College Day, Union Day, etc. And also there will be department-wise programmes including intercollegiate competitions. The library of Vimala College is big and helpful. There are a lot of books to refer to our subjects and to read but I couldn't find many authors' famous novels and all there. Vimala gives a lot of importance to sports and arts. They always get a higher position in sports D-zone and Interzone competitions. Vimala offers a wide variety of clubs like music clubs, dance clubs, library clubs, yoga clubs, fashion clubs, pain and palliative clubs etc. I was a day scholar. So I don't know much about the hostel. But I heard that food and room are ok levels and there is lack of charging sockets. Hostellers have hostel days and separate Onam and Christmas celebrations at night. If you are looking for a PG near college, they are also available there.

I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.

I love zoology.. I want to build my career on this subject. My faculty has phd.. She teaches well.. I could understand all concepts very easily. There are internal exams. I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty
